Can anyone reccomend any books/authors that are similar to the style of chuck palahnuik. Have recently read choke and survivor and loved both.

You might like the Russian writer Victor Pelevin, particularly Homozapiens. Helmet of Horror is good too, although a more supernatural.

Reading Palahnuik is akin to having your anus stuck to one of those pool suction holes and then having your intestines ripped out of you.

I read this book in 2016, got some stupid ideas in my head, made a long series of very bad decisions, and am still in the process of climbing out of the hole I dug for myself. I used to blame this book for everything. Then I realized the book was merely a catalyst and the groundwork for the coming self-destruction had already been laid. However, I still despise this book and it's author.

I read Fight Club/Choke/Survivor when I was like 17-19 and remember almost nothing about the latter two. I just remember in Choke the MC is a sex addict who shits his pants at the end cause he has an anal bead lodged deep in his ass and he gets off on forcing himself to choke so strangers give him the Heimlich. Survivor I just remember the MC is basically the Antichrist but on behalf of all the major megacorps of the world and then he absconds with some chick he met at the beginning of the book and then they jump out of an airplane they hijacked without parachutes.

this guy is one of the few authors who has genuinely made me puke from nausea due to how disgusting and graphic some of his writing is.

Why don’t Fight Club propel Chuck to literary legacy like movies did for Cormac and other writers?

You want to try that again but this time pretend that English is your first language?

Joey Goebel definitely and also maybe Bret Easton Ellis but not really

The Fight Club book unironically wasn't very well written.

Oh jesus, I clicked this thread because I like skinless dudes, and reading that unlocked a core memory... fuck you anon. Well at least it's better than Fluke and giant alien prehensile whale cocks jizzing oceans of semen.

I forgot I read Fight Club as a teen until I saw this thread. Not a great book.

Dying Inside by Robert Silverberg reminds me of Choke ie. story about not living up to your potential
