Currently reading this, at Chapter 6. Why is it so roughly written? So many run on sentences, and three paragraphs to describe how a saloon looks; what the patrons are doing, what they look like, what they're wearing, the floor they're stepping on, and how what they're holding looks. Does it get better?

I had the exact same problem with it. I don't give a fuck how many times someone spat on the ground. It's way too overly descriptive

McCarthy don't know how to write. I liked Holden, the Kid and Glanton

Because post-modernism elevates ugly, unrefined and obscure things and denigrates that which is well-crafted, clear and precise. Why our cultural elites want to foist such trash upon us is the real question.
