It's literature something that requires an education to enjoy, like classical music?

I think it augments the experience if you read something in a class taught by a professor that knows the subject matter really well

I took a Nabokov class freshman year of college. Professor was really knowledgable about his works and she knew how to foster discussion. Great experience that sparked my interest in literature in general

Babies can enjoy classical music. You need to be literate to enjoy literature, drama, poetry recitation, and audiobooks (lmao) notwithstanding. Becoming literate is an education, but nowadays it’s not what counts as being educated.

Classical music can be enjoyed by anyone. It's just that most of it is just elites circlejerking each other. If you want to listen to operas for example you just look at the arias and throw the rest in the trash where it belongs.
Same thing with books. 40% is just brain wank for pseuds, 40% is teenage slop and 20% is good depending on what you personally enjoy. You just have to read "wide" and find out what you actually like.

I enjoy some classical pieces while being an autistic retard, so literatura should be no different.

Classical music has a very specific inner vocabulary of forms that, while yes, anyone can enjoy, being at least slightly trained in what to look for makes as much difference as watching a foreign film with or without subtitles in your native language.

Literature is education in and of itself. Whether it's historical texts, science fiction, or philosophical essays, you are learning and growing every time you read. You may want to read guides and commentaries before diving in to more advanced text, but you can still learn about it on your own just by reading.

you might have an easier time if you were taught how to read
