Currently reading:
Midnight's children

Truly dystopian. Here it's free, and in fact my city's library even abolished late fees a few years ago. We're cutting edge. But yeah, I don't care tho. I only ever go to the library if I need a quiet place to read, and I very rarely check out any books. The last books I borrowed were of Van Gogh and Monet prints I think so they weren't really for reading anyways, and that was like 5-6 years ago.

Yeah, they kinda are and kinda aren't. Comics are books in the same sense art print books are books – they both take the form of a Book, but neither are focused so much on text as they are on images. I don't think the simple mention of literary graphic titles like From Hell, Watchmen or Akira should be banned on /lit/, but threads should be relegated to /co/.

Did you read it yet? I’ve so far read only the chapter about communal living. This society’s political organization was: the clergy first, the elderly second, and then the rest of society according with their wealth, which is funny because after they managed to comply with all the societal rules of being accepted into this group (complete submission of mind then of body) they had to collectivize their entire wealth into a shared pool.

Here is the Haram bucket.

All of these were offloaded onto me second-hand.

I can't sell these books according to my religion.

Woe unto you if your book ends up in the Haram bucket.

It holds George R. R. Martin, Oscar Wilde, and Dan Brown.

Have confidence in your writing, you don't need sin to sell books.

Anonymous No.24675405 >>24675425

Parmenides is the hardest by far. I heard a professor who said that the quality of an interpreter of Plato is measured by his interpretation of Parmenides, and that leaves Nietzsche as a bad one.

Makes sense, this is my 22nd Platonic dialogue and everything prior was significantly easier. I only have Theatetus, Sophist, Statesman, Philebus, Timaeus, Critias, and Laws left after this which I imagine will be a little harder than the early and middle dialogues I’ve read though. In your eyes, what did Nietzsche get wrong?

I forgot to say in the last reply that I was nta. Well, regarding your question, I was scammed into the start with the greeks meme so I'm nowhere near reading Nietzsche, what I said was according to the professor I heard to work through the dialogues (my sentence was ambiguous, I admit). But from what I remember of the course, he criticised that Nietzsche's takes are too focused on the middle stage Plato of the Republic and Phaedo, where he is the most dualist and contemptuous of the material world. He essentially ignores the late period dialogues where Plato starts to question the Forms and himself (or what we deem "himself", because you will agree that Plato is extremely multifaceted to the point that we don't know very important theses by him, the agrapha dogmata, whose existence we only know because Aristotle mentioned them).

I don’t think a target basket will be enough to contain the haramanimity of it all. To encapsulate the haramananation in its entirety, you need to wrap the edges of the harameridianatable books in plastic wrap. Then boil them on the stove to kill all the germs.
