i guess they mean people here recommend rymcore music, i mean, this is 4chan after all and things popular on /mu/ are known by everyone.
also, it's admittedly more fun to match literature with modern music as the connection isn't that clear, since now music movements aren't paired with general artistic movements, less so literature-involving ones. if i posted something by some french baroque musician, the natural response would be to read Molière. if i posted jazz, then Kerouac. anything from the romantic era to some German idealist that directly inspired it
