worth reading?

Absolutely.
You can skip a lot of the early essays if you'd like and jump straight into Machinic Desire

does he write in incoherent schizobabble or well
Anonymous No.24668345 >>24668441

Both, his writing is fragmented and deliberately dense.
It’s also an anthology, or collection of essays, so it doesn’t follow a continuous order. Each essay can be read on its own but there are a lot of recurring themes.
Just find a PDF and read some of it.
I recommend Meltdown

Nick Land is almost definitely evil. I want to read him but I'm slightly concerned if I read him his evil would rub off on me.

Don't fall under his spell! His writings make frequent use of gematria to influence the reader, wholly Satanic

You do know that "rubbing off on you" means sexual frottage?

ive watched some interviews of his with some lil enthusiastic college kids who wanna talk philosophy with him and he seems really kind and nice. he even prepared some topics that may have interested the kids in advance. he could be corrupted at a deeper level but at least at face value he seemed like a nice guy.

Oh goodness no.

It has a poopy butt on the cover so I wouldn’t read it.
Anonymous No.24668538 >>24668871
Very much so. I don't pander to Nick at all, but this book felt fresh and rather necessary and rightfully self-absorbed, like an incantation, a fruitful injection of schizopoetics into the corroded edifice of continental philosophy. Go ahead by all means. Nothing to be afraid of. Or is it?

substitute this schizo nonsense (genuine claptrap) with some sf, moravec and some books on machine learning (if you're mathematically inclined)

land lacks originality. To reiterate, you're better off reading sci fi

This is outdated 'residue' from a long dead version of Land. Read these instead.

Yeah because capital being a sentient noumena which arrives to assemble itself through capital is such a played out trope

according to land it has been an ai for longer than we've used that term. think i pencil but for everything. the "assembling itself from the future" would more accurately be stated "assembling itself from a future held in the collective imaginations of people who matter"

Yes actually it is worth it, but I encourage you to read Thirst for Annihilation first. If you've read either Nietzsche or Kant at length it makes it easier to understand what Land is doing.
Also in general I think it's not actually that hard to understand. People tend to exaggerate this a lot. If you pay attention to what he says that you didn't expect, or think carefully about his style and arguments in the more artistic sections, you will really start to get it.
