I cant shit on Murakami since I dont read jap and his ideas are interesting and transmitted by his translators. Its the same as praising his hero Raymond Carver and then learning his editor Gordon Lish edited the shit out of his work.

I wouldn’t read him to begin with just out of lack of interest, but you should still finish a book you’ve started. I should probably read at least one of his books so I can just confirm that he’s trash: it’s intellectually lazy to dismiss authors without at least finishing a book of theirs.
