At what point did you realize that prose and plot aren't that relevant, but the really important thing for western classic novels and anime isekai are the characters and their reactions to the plot events.

That's why I always stop reading them right when they get isekaid.
The wizard of oz? Haunting short story about rural poverty in mid 19th century America.
Jobless reincarnation? Tragedy about a fat gooning loser destroying his family and being destroyed by them in turn, forced into a world he has no hope of surviving in, like some sort of idiot man bird. Pitifully flapping it's fleshy wings and crying. It's not an isekai it's a Faulkner novel.
