James Ellroy novels like American tabloid (JFK stuff)
I often wonder why Ellroy isn't more popular here. He's "based" and "redpilled" and wrote memorably about LAPD beating spics with telephone directories and the seedy underside of power in America.

>"America was never innocent. We popped our cherry on the boat over and looked back with no regrets. You can't ascribe our fall from grace to any single event or set of circumstances. You can't lose what you lacked at conception.
Mass-market nostalgia gets you hopped up for a past that never existed. Hagiography sanctifies shuck-and-jive politicians and reinvents their expedient gestures as moments of great moral weight. Our continuing narrative line is blurred past truth and hindsight. Only a reckless verisimilitude can set that line straight.
The real Trinity of Camelot was Look Good, Kick Ass, Get Laid. Jack Kennedy was the mythological front man for a particularly juicy slice of our history. He called a slick line and wore a world-class haircut. He was Bill Clinton minus pervasive media scrutiny and a few rolls of flab.
Jack got whacked at the optimum moment to assure his sainthood. Lies continue to swirl around his eternal flame. It's time to dislodge his urn and cast light on a few men who attended his ascent and facilitated his fall.
They were rouge cops and shakedown artist. They were wiretappers and soldiers of fortune and faggot lounge entertainers. Had one second of their lives deviated off course, American History would not exist as we know it.
It's time to demythologize an era and build a new myth from the gutter to the stars. It's time to embrace bad men and the price they paid to secretly define there time.
Here's to them."

The entire deconstruction of the lone killer in the book is extremely worldview shifting. All these murders being related to human trafficking, organized crime, drug hits, pedophile/satanic ritual abuse aided by the CIA, FBI, army and local law enforcement makes much more sense than the real life supervillain that eludes all authorities. The theory McGowan puts out that the serial killer was american's version of the european Gladio networks to make terror a common occurence and shift the consensus towards generalized surveillance is also a very sound idea

Well I’m not sure if you’re the person I replied to originally, but if you are, this is not one of those books. It’s only relevant here in terms of racist eschatology, which the author links to the UFO movement (think Nords = Aryans, Reptiles = Jews) through the Theosophical Society, the UFO movement being relevant because of the Fed involvement in UFO disinfo. One of the suspects of engineering the OKC bomb suggested by Wendy is Stephen Colbern who today dedicates much of his time to claiming he is an expert on removing microchips planted by aliens another psyop promoted by proven federal agents.

The thesis is much more compelling when argued in its abstract form than the way that McGowan actually presents it in the novel, which indeed comes off as a schizo rant written in a dimly lit basement somewhere.

Like we know that the CIA organized underground paramilitary cells in Europe that wound up becoming violent criminal sex trafficking syndicates, and that the US created a systematized program of serial killing in the Vietnam war that was later used in LATAM, but IIRC instead of convincingly tying these threads together he gets caught up in a billion tangent and the lurid details of serial killings and loses focus on his thesis. IMO people who advocate the book online usually offer a more compelling argument than McGowan himself in his own book.

A historical conspiracy theory recommendation:

>Early modern witchcraft trials uncovered remnants of a pagan neolithic fertility religion whose rituals and practices were fairly consistent across Central Europe from northern Italy to the Balkans. Its major belief is that some members of the community are marked from birth with a caul as spirit walkers and must enter a shamanistic spiritual battle in their dreams against "demons" to protect their crops several times a year. The Germanic myth of the "wild hunt" is likely related to this religion.

I agree, he tend to stray to far from the conspiratorial political aspect to focus more on the esoteric coating, the 'satanist' element. But when put in perspective the work prior to the writing of the book was done in the 90s and he was pretty much walking by himself in the dark. If this was written today with all the information and archive it'd be much more clinical

It's about as mundane as you can get for 17th century supernatural stories. It's also only 32 pages long. Curious if only for the idea that the period in which no there is no ruler is vulnerable to such phenomenon, but this isn't posited on the book itself, which is just a reprinting of primary sources of the time.

Does anyone have recommendations for actually well-written, well-thought-out, well-researched schizolit? I feel that people recommend books like picrel or Programmed to Kill because they're "foundational" but whenever I read them with an open mind, they usually turn me off of the theories they're trying to present because they're either so poorly written and organized, or because the claims are unfounded and outlandish. When I started reading picrel the first chapter was just Ancient Aliens, Graham Hancock shit and that turned me off immediately.

In other words; if you were to recommend a book on the paranormal or parapolitics to a skeptic, NOT a true believer, in order to convince them, which book(s) would you choose?

The problem with the biggest UFO skeptics is they come from Eastern Christianity which seems to function less a religion and more as a mouthpiece for the Kremlin instead being a faith that stands on its own independent of earthly political concerns. I'm not dismissing Orthodoxy out of hand but for as much of a Christian as I am, one cannot help but think there ought to be a church that exist independent of petty playground politics to offer unadulterated truth about what exists beyond mere human experiences without being controlled by them.

Reza Negarestani

I can practically feel this rewiring my brain. What is the zone of neuronal interconnection but a vast Nemat-Space (the increasingly fractal cavities the writing often explores)? A bit like Chris Kraus and Borges collabing on Deleuze/Lovecraft slash fic. Borderline parody of academic theoritical writing as paranoid conspiracy, except that many of the conclusions Negarestani draws as he constructs his wild, strange connections (MENA archeological history, oil economics (petro-polytics), radical Islamic splinter groups, the war on terror in the just-pre-ISIS days) actually ring awfully true, metaphorically and actually. It's a strange sort of reading experience -- often I read through stretches without feeling like I'm taking in the dense prose, only to find my thoughts reshaped by things I didn't realize I'd understood in the coming days. Oddly subversive and highly unique.
