In 2025, advertisers are dropping "gay publications," and media outlets aimed at lgbtq audiences. Articles which express pro-lgbt views have a probability of causing advertiser backlash. This is bringing many of them to the verge of shutting down.

Is a role reversal scenario in cancel culture justified or just as bad?

That's not what's happening idiot. Advertisers have learned that unless their product is inherently gay, there's no reason to associate it with being gay. If I was reading a magazine for gays, I'd expect almost all the ads to have to do with being gay or products for gays. You know, that's why Playboys main advertisers were cigarettes and alcohol, and not household cleaning items. This is just gays trying to create a victim complex.

If the internet was as big as it was, and if outrage culture wasn't the main source of engagement farming, then the advertisers would probably keep their adverts, maybe. If it's in a gay magazine, no one but gay people are going to see it. But with the internet and outrage culture, there's a decent chance some "totally straight" MAGApede will post the ad on twitter in an attempt to engagement farm and generate outrage (LOOK, IT'S A TRANNY DRINKING A BEER IN AN AD FOR A GAY MAGAZINE! GET ANGRY!).
Yet at the same time, I also recognize that the ad companies are probably dropping the ads because advertising in a gay magazine probably isn't profitable in general. You're targeting a marginal population, and if it's a general audience product, there's no need to hyper-focus on gays. You're just throwing your money away because the gays are being hit with your ads in other venues. Gay-oriented products only make sense for a gay publication.
