Recommend one book to a disillusioned zoomer who hasn't read anything this year
I'm so tired of the mundanity and repetition that even thinking feels like a chore now. Anything to escape this rut

The possibility of an island is one of my personal favorites. If you want something you can talk to women about that also isnt complete slop, Piranesi is pretty good too.

Very good, I'd say. Norel and Strange is also highly entertaining.

I say read some serious kino first to get into the groove.
Perhaps this, by the master-stylist Raymond Thornton Chandler himself. "The Long Goodbye" (1953) -- One of the most gorgeous novels.

This was grueling and desolate. Read it yes, but it is painful.--I do think Houellebecq is doubtless the stylist of our age. Though, the image of nihilism he depicts is deliberately grating,--though thankfully he's so-very funny and sweetly observant.
