Lust
Are there books on the problem of lust from a Christian perspective? Orthodox if possible but anything is appreciated

Why is it always lust with you people? You're all so worried about lust. Never greed. Never pride. Never envy, never wrath. It's always lust. Are you certain lust is the biggest sin in your life? Are you certain it's not wrath?

Every sin stems from pride
And being worried about one sin doesn't imply you aren't worried about the others

My diary desu.
Jokes aside, I recall reading something by C.S Lewis on the topic of lust, can't remember if it was part of a book or something else he wrote. Stay strong anon.

What this post actually is about is a fully grown man who canβt stop gooning. He probably converted 5 months ago after listening to the crusader kings soundtrack and deciding tradcath is βbasedβ He posts tradcath shit all over the internet, with his sacrilegious avi of what was once a saint but now a mere signifier, and then once he gets bored looking at his bookmarks folder full of unread Feser blog posts and /lit/ reading charts he retreats into his gooncave. He probably has a Reddit account where he has been posting disgusting shit for years. He probably has 6 different porn accounts on various websites that he had to ID verify since he lives in a shithole state and gave his facial scan to palantir (a company that he thinks is βbasedβ anyway) and a filled 2TB hard drive. This post was made probably 6 hours into βquitting porn foreverβ. This man is traditional, masculine, and deserves a wife. Someone help him and give him literature that he will not read

1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

although it is obviously very easy to mock a person who wants to be religious today but struggles too much with "lust" in porn and masturbation -- I think it's funny to imagine such a person, too -- I believe there is an issue there that wasn't there before. The bible and the church points to two different valid paths for men: marriage, or, if you're one of the few who can manage it, celibacy. These seem to be intended as the only acceptable ones. But this doesn't account for the incel, for the one who isn't cut out for celibacy but can't get married. Supposedly all can follow the law regardless of their person and their lot in life, but what are we expecting, here? Of course personal faults are at play in most cases, but it can hardly be attributed solely to that, nor could we even then expect of these men that they'd all themselves curate the discipline required to completely neglect their sexual desires or that they'd all resolve whatever issues make them unattractive as a spouse, making this question irrelevant again. So there is really a problem here with people who wish to follow the law, and almost certainly would have been able to when the law was formulated, but because of social change now can't. So what do we tell them? Sorry, only few among you can ever become cut out for religion? Abandon your chud ideals (and be condemned to hell) or cut your balls off? It might sound harsh but ultimately fair when told to one person, if your right hand etc etc and all that, but told to millions it's clearly unreasonable
So what I'm ESL:ing is that I'd be interested in a serious answer also though I don't believe myself

You're operating from a false premise. God either calls you to marriage or to celibacy. You should talk to your priest to determine your calling and once you're sure of what you're meant to be doing, either look for a wife among the church community or focus on celibacy and possibly monkhood.
There's no such thing as "not cut out" for Christianity. It makes no sense to say someone isn't cut out for the Truth.

that's why St. John Chrysostom says that parents should find their children partners while they're still young

Sorry for not being clear. That's my point. A man who can't keep celibate and can't marry will live in contradiction with his values if he wishes to be christian. For the christian, he seems condemned to sin. The most likely path is a few years of self-hatred and guilt, and then abandoning the faith. So what would this priest tell the incels? One man can be asked to accept celibacy, but a % of a whole nation's men can not. Same goes for self-improving for the sake of marriage -- it's simply not a solution to the question, besides for a few individuals.

I would assume that if you're absolutely certain that you cannot marry then you would turn to monasticism and learn how to relinquish the idea that you any kind of love except God's.
>self-hatred and guilt, and then abandoning the faith
We all have a cross to carry, it's not supposed to be easy. Everyone has their struggles and for some it may be that.

I'm not a priest though, so this is a question you might want to ask someone who is actually capable of providing real pastoral care.
