I often feel like I have to dumb down my speech when talking to people because no one likes intellectuals who use big words, it makes them feel dumb

Pseud? Pseudo-what. Pseudonym?
How ought I be a pseudonym, when that's the symbol and I'm a mere referent.

I haven't the personal need to do so.
The burden of proof is upon the accuser.
Why do you deem me a pseud?
How do you define a pseudo-intellectual in the first place?
Not the textbook definition, in your own understanding of the term, what it means to you, specifically.

I am a psued, unironically. I'm not particularly bright, above average sure, but nowhere near genius level.
I like to spend my time researching things, I will often get very fixated on something seemingly at random and spend a great deal of time combing the internet for information about the subject; youtube, articles, forum posts, whatever I can get. For example, I've spent hours, days, months, researching weapon mounted flashlights.
I like brain-teaser logic puzzles, I like philosophy, I like learning things in general.
My job isn't cognitively demanding but I often abstract it and think of my workplace as a complex, but not necessarily complicated, system with multiple elements and then evaluate those individual elements as well as their inter-connected relationships amongst one another.
I guess that could also just be called autism.

I am and will forever stay a massive pseud. My issue is that it's impossible to find genuine intellectuals, people who could help elevate me from pseuddom, to talk with. I've even taken a couple of philosophy and literature courses at my local university and guess what, everyone there's a pseud.
