Determinism was the true executioner of God
The scientific advancements of the 17th and 18th centuries put increasing emphasis on laws of nature and the clockwork predictability of physical phenomena. Hence most of the great philosophers of those times (e.g., Descartes, Hobbes, Spinoza, Locke, Leibniz, Hume, and Kant) came to adopt deterministic worldviews. Determinism actively invites you to pass judgement on God. Passing judgement on God is as good as killing him, his non-existence is his only alibi. Thusly, God would not live to see the end of the 19th century.

When will people stop treating religion as Christianity
What do you even mean by God? What do you even mean by passing judgement? What do you mean by the laws of nature? These are all contextually dependent on a religious framework that means different things to different communities. To say that "God" was "killed" by "science" skips over several dozen definitions and explanations that it means different things to different people and so the statements themselves are meaningless

Wow what an insightful post. Come back to the board once you have read Hamann, including his correspondences with Kant.

Yes and it created totalitarianism. People that propagate it should be snuffed out. It killed art and culture.
