Somewhat misleading, a 3-4 person group of of brainstorming 130s in a research setting will outperform the vast majority of 140-160s (high as it goes) going solo, whereas you could have a hundred 90-110s working round the clock and they'd never beat a mid-high 130.
There's some sort of floor boundary at the 120ish mark where you gain access to a sort of generative and intuitive thinking the double digits simply cannot do. Its not an exact thing but neither is IQ.

About the researchers?
For the most part yes if we're talking about shifting the IQ ranges all down by one category.
Those in the 110-130 group can still do research (most research is actually incredibly rote), are pretty normal for the most part, and only becomes trans maybe 1 in 10 or 1 in 20. Gifted kids, I don't know, I didn't know them as kids, and those that burned out at 15 didn't make it here so they are necessarily removed from my sample. Can't comment on those two.
I can't really talk on "godspawn". There's a lot of mythologising about these people, and a lot of their work is built so strongly on the work of people in the two groups below, but they have a charisma and an ability to pull it together, and if their idea benefits the right factions and they make the right story they will be idolised.
Maybe Euler and other really famous thinkers could think up revolutionary ideas in just 5 minutes, but I think it's unlikely, or more probable it is "simmering" over time based on their reading the work of their contempories and fusing it together.
