no. he was too much of a savvy professional to alienate half of his potential customers. he could have "spoken out" about bush and the iraq war or the 2nd intifada and any other leftist current things of the 2000s but he stayed quiet and just made mild whimperings about sincerely or whatever. leftists have had some kind of culture war thing to claim is fascist since the 70s. basically, if you want to college anytime after like 1965, there were leftists on campus absolutely seething about some current thing. if he didn't engage with them in the 80s, 90s, or 00s, he wouldn't have now either.
