Confess Your Literary Sins
All will be forgiven edition.

I masturbate to the description of Mary Morstan, as given by Dr. Watson in the opening scenes of The Sign of Four.

My ocd sometimes makes me think of a letter or word in my head. And then I when I read my brain forces me to look for that letter or word and it completely ruins my reading experience

The rate at which I buy books vs read is pretty severe at the moment. Not too long ago, I was afraid my shelf next to my bed was going to collapes and squash my head like a pumpkin. I'll be officially be putting a pause on all purchases soon. In the meantime, I've got a library sale to visit today...

I have too many unread books I get overstimulated when deciding my next read.
I have barely been able to read this year due to my gut-brain axis being fucked and am scared my overall intelligence has dropped significantly as a result, due to my spelling and speech being much poorer (although my gut-brain axist hasn't quite healed yet).
I have thrown away 10 years' worth of writing because I have no interest in literary ambitions anymore.

I want to write erotic stories, the only thing which stops me is the fear of my gf’s reaction. She’s far more religious than I, I don’t think she’d be pleased, even if it were vanilla stuff (it wouldn’t be)

Sometimes i skip through scene descriptors, fill in the blanks with my own imagination and just read through dialogue. Especially in scifi works.

When i was younger i used to skip ahead 5-7 pages because i couldn't be assed to consume all the fluff.
Nowadays i'm better about it and have come to appreciate actually reading all of the book.

I enjoy the idea of diving into generic fantasy slop like The Belgeriad or Wheel of Time but actually sitting down to read them leaves me bored out of my mind.

I think the only downside I can think of is that it will take you longer to finish whatever shit. Reading is usually much faster than listening to someone speaking and narrating, unless you're too busy to read or something (you're not, don't lie). In any case, I personally wouldn't consider it a sin. At the end of the day, you're gaining the same knowledge as us, right? Different medium, same result, I guess!

I fuckin love my audiobooks. I only listen to them when I'm driving to/from work or doing some chores around the house. I'd rather play vidja during my free time at home, so it works really well. The only downside I've found is that I can't follow shit like the Aeneid. Any poetry is too difficult to follow without putting my car through a bus. Maybe its just my special set of autism, I can't believe that people listen to music instead.

Sometimes I ask LLMs for grammar checks.

>Check the following passage for grammatical errors. Don't use semi colons or dashes, and don't adjust for clarity or style. Only point out glaring errors like spelling mistakes, comma splices, run on sentences, etc.
