I like normal fonts but squished. The title is just Cormorant Garamond, but compressed horizontally.

Not sure if compressed, but reduced space between the letters.

On my e-reader I use Bitter for the body and Playfair Display for the headers. In my text editor it's a customized build of Iosevka.

I’m a 12-pt Times New Roman absolutist in everything I produce.

This is the way, and if you disagree you’re subhuman.

I generally like a combination of three types of fonts and use them in a variety of ways. Sorts Mill Goudy for serif. Roboto for sans on screens. And the iA Writer typewriter fonts for printing my rough drafts on paper. I'm currently looking for something better than Roboto but I haven't really found it yet. The iA Writer fonts can probably also be replaced at some point, but I have yet to find anything better. Even IBM's free ones make some weird choices that I just don't agree with.

I use Seravek whenever I can
I want to like Berkeley Mono but I like MonoLisa more…except in gnome-terminal
I think I’m using MB Type’s Valkyrie for stuff someplace
It’s great too

What characteristics do you look for in a font? Whether for readability or for style.

To me they’re not mutually exclusive. To someone like me, the most readable font will naturally be the most beautiful.
Which is what I mean by saying those are the three I think are the current best examples of the form.

I generally have subtle criticisms of the three. Off the top of my head and for example’s sake, I wish Sorts Mill Goudy did not used a Roman numeral 1, and just used a regular 1 shape to match their other numbers. For another, I like Roboto a lot but I feel like it’s just missing like some final je ne sais quoi that would put it over the top. Ive recently been playing with Inter font. As for iA Writer fonts, I like their Duo for printing my drafts and Quattro more for screen typing, I just with they could somehow blend them into something that worked best for both.

I’m not him but I think the IBM font has that Batarang brace

Oh man I’ve been through this before. With IBM’s font, you have to use them small. As in 12pt or less. Anything bigger and it looks awkward and weird. But 12 or lower, they’re all magnificent and near perfect. Trust me. It’s weird but try it. Try it for yourself.

It was the standard font on Android 2 and I got used to it while reading on Nook Simple Touch. I've been using it on every device I own since then.

Comic Sans. I use it for humorous effect in visual novels. Every time a character gets hit in the head they speak in Comic Sans for a few lines.
