The way Umberto Eco's family treated his library after he died was a travesty.

Didn’t we establish a million times this shit isn’t his library and that he donated his collection to an actual library that takes care of it?

What is the motivation of the bot or mental midget that keeps reposting this?

Today I was thinking about the fate of our collections, because I went to someone's house to pick up some book.
A woman posted on a Facebook group that she wanted to find a new home for her father's books, who just moved into a care home.
I really appreciated the books, but I couldn't help feeling sorry for the old man, because I might be in his shoes in 50 or 60 years, or even less. And guilty, because I was taking away things that meant something to him
She told me they gave him time for closure.
She told me they gave him some time for closure, but I'm sure parting with a collection built over 50 years must be difficult.
Anyhow, she ended up taking a picture of me carrying the books, to let her father know that some of them ended up in good hands.
Thanks for reading my blog.

It's authoritarianism but with a hint of racial superiority and and homosexuality. Fabianism, "progressivism" or corporatism. IE what China is doing

OP is pulling our leg, but you're really this dumb.
What is a dead man going to do with a library?
Don't know the difference between personal property from private property?

Books usually get dumped because most people don't care about books. If you want your collection to live on you have to take care of it as long as you can. However, this anon >>24837587 is correct

I mean it's rather simple. Just bury your books. Hopefully an archeologist 100 years from now puts them in a museum.
