I reread The Dark Enlightenment at least once a month and it's probably the most impactful piece of writing I've ever laid my eyes on. How comes his reactionary writings get so little attention compared to his earlier methed-up schizo nonsense, asides for hand-wringing dismissal and moral grandstanding disapproval from political opponents? They try to act like it doesn't exist or that it's just "stupid" and nobody should ever read it, despite embodying one of the most compelling critiques of the Leftist project ever made.

The Left only focuses on his earlier writings because they are afraid of the obvious conclusions to be drawn from Marx's analysis of capital. If capital operates under its own autonomous logic, if historical analysis has shown the complete triumph of capital even in Marxist-Leninist states, and if you no longer cling onto the outdated LTV autism with which Marx justified his fantasy of some inevitable collapse of capital, then we are obviously dealing with something of far greater intellect and strength than any human effort can defeat (drawing upon Kant makes these human limitations even more obvious). The clear outcome is mankind's submission to capital, and eventually, mankind's complete transformation by capital. Some Marxists already foresaw this, particularly Camatte, but they retreated into escapist fantasies like primitivism in order to avoid the inevitable. Land's current politics is a necessary extension of him recognizing this harsh truth (as such, I don't really subscribe to this sort of Young vs Old Land dichotomy, despite Land's disavowal of much of his early work), and that's why he has still remained relevant while his CCRU cohorts never grew out of their left-accelerationist theory-fiction phase. The Left can't even acknowledge Land's later work precisely because it shows that the only honest Marxism is Neoreaction.

Because his early work is collected in a nice print volume. His later work is comprised of blog posts at best, tweets at worst, and will never go into print from any publisher.

I still have no idea why Capitalist Realism is often recommended as an intro to socialism, it's difficult to fully understand without first understanding hyperstition. It's no wonder so many on the left just see it as a mundane book about cultural hegemony.

the left operates by pretending meaningful critiques against them don't exist, so when they come up it's better to ignore them than engage with them
presumed intellectual superiority is a huge part of the average leftoid's identity, they MUST imagine their enemies as ignorant hicks being manipulated by 'grifters'
the quiet decimation of the leftist intellectual class (to be replaced by 'activists') needs to be talked about a lot more

But capital is failing right now. It's just that there has never been full global capitalization to the fullest limit of global resources and human capital potential, with the consequent total financialization of all assets.

Socialist states have submitted to capital in order to keep up in the race to the end in a world where undeveloped global capital still exists and where it can be leveraged geopolitically by capitalism to fuck socialism in the ass.

I'm not defending socialism, but the crisis of capitalism requires that capitalism run out of untapped resources and markets. We're basically there.

>But capital is failing right now.
this is just plainly untrue, capital is doing exactly what Land predicted it would and is decoupling itself from human outcomes
Anonymous No.24851282 [Report] >>24851300
>>24851244
This is the crisis.
The reason why capital is forced to "decouple from human outcomes" is because overproduction creates deflationary pressure and capitalism responds by creating debt through financialization.
Overproduction, the inability of capital to accommodate the real value it automatically distributes to the non-capitalist class, is why financialization is necessary.

Prior to the era of financialization, capitalism dealt with overproduction by "seeking new markets". Another name for this was World War II.

What parts to Kapital should I read for this?
Anonymous No.24851300 [Report] >>24851620

>>24851282
Capitalism automatically distributes value to non-capital holders, which destroys the value of capital.
Capitalists must respond by finding ways to suck value back into capital. This is done by commoditizing all aspects of human life and financializing them. A translation is that your live becomes slavery and every deprivation or austerity that can be imposed on you will be, with increasing tightening on any and all paths to improved conditions. Where economic growth outpaces increases to standards of living.
This results in social collapse.
Capitalists planned for and avoided this by seeking uncapitalized markets, primarily in Asia. World War II was fought over whether Europe or America would be able to develop Asia to preserve capitalism temporarily in their domestic economies.

Nope.
There are still many natural resources to exploit but cost of extraction vs. proven reserves has put marginal limits on this.
This is exacerbated by limits on human capital.
Thanks to feminism, IQ rates are going down.
Thanks to the institutional needs of the post-war managerial hegemony that protects and advances the prerogatives of global capitalism, meaningful talent is being suppressed in favor of politically compliant managerial officers.

There is no more human capital to develop that won't be disruptive to the system of capitalism as such after Indian human capital is fully developed.

While I would agree the Indian tap of mediocre, strings attached, destined-to-backfire talent is far from fully tapped, there is no more room in developed economies to accommodate more jeet replacement.

The marginal value extracted from using jeet labor as replacements for Western labor has run dry - not due to lack of additional Hindus - but due to the relatively full replacement of the white Western middle class in upcoming generations.

Capitalism has no more low hanging fruit and is already in a process of total cannibalization. I don't think it can even last very long in this process simply due to its marginal fragility. There's plenty to cannibalize, but without undercapitalized markets in resources, consumption or labor, that cannibalism will fracture social stability and break supply chains.

and the political landscape has never been more bleak and miserable, humanity has never been less enlightened or creative, everyone has retreated into degenerate fantasies to distract from the endless alienation and misery especially the people with their hands on the levers of power, what has any of this accomplished? Land may have incidentally prophesied human apathy and entropy to obliterate our autonomy and perhaps life as we know it, but obviously that is not a good thing, there is no positive vision for the future advocated by any reactionary, just a desire to worship an apocalyptic beast that will come in the paltry form of a runaway greenhouse effect as opposed to an epic supervillain machine god, itself a degenerate retreat into the toy box for a bunch of feeble minded software engineers, who desire to paint the "ai" waste machines with the Matrix or LOTR IPs. He might be more intelligent than you given that you offer no ability to support his agenda but he is really plainly stupid, I have read his writings on literature he has not understood a single book he has read (he once seriously pondered "what would Dostoevsky think about the Covid Vaccine" what a fucking idiot), he has no conception of history or geopolitical reality (the John Kerry swift boat controversy was what he said awakened him to the dishonesty of politics), his grand political vision is "what if a cabal of airline pilots regulated tech eco city states because people already trust them", his moral understanding is literally that people cannot care about their closest family members (and he justifies this with statistics he fundamentally misattributes and misreads). I do not believe he has demonstrated an understanding of anything. He name drops incessantly with absolutely no substance other than creating a vague aesthetic dress for a non ideology, the most specific thing I have ever heard him say was that political coherence and truth are immaterial - there are only factions and their livery, and his is composed of pure lies because if his faction purely regurgitates his lies that proves unwavering loyalty (of people incapable of independent thought or any discernment but the point stands). His strategy is purely to appear intelligent to imbeciles who have never read anything and he admits to this. Other than ideas and works physiognomy and taste are a key determiner of intelligence and he is a profoundly hideous fat oaf who waddles around in bicycle helmets and leather jackets like the retard he is

Constantly seeking to gratify your worldly desires is not enlightenment. But this was the logic of both east and west even before the USSR collapsed. It all amounted to endless increases in quality of life, bread and circuses but with more sophistication.
