It's a bizarre experience. Very trippy. Imagine your whole life was trapped inside of a snow globe. Every thought, every memory, every belief, every experience. All inside of a tiny snow globe. Ketamine allows you to "zoom out" and see the snow globe of your life from the outside.

Then imagine the world gets split between Heaven and Hell, or Life and Death, if you prefer. Ketamine drives a wedge between your reality so you can see the world in either direction. You can feel the joys of living (Heaven), or the stagnation of dying (Hell). Feels like a near-death experience. You lose your memory and all sense of time, existing only in the present moment.

It's also the most immersion-enhancing drug out there for that reason. It can make you feel like you're actively experiencing a video you're watching. Or that you're actually living inside of the video game you're playing.

Yes, it’s a different class of drugs (dissociative as opposed to psychedelic). However, a high dose of ketamine can induce ego death just like psychedelics can. Except ketamine’s ego death is scary and inhuman, as opposed to the warm, liberating kind of ego death you can get during a good trip on psychedelics.

Ego death on ketamine is like getting laid out on an operating table and having your ego surgically extracted from you. The resulting state of consciousness it puts you in is alien to anything a human normally experiences.
