Rayearth is just fine, it's just not a typical mecha show. It's a shoujo magical girl fantasy, where mecha happen to show up near the end. (of the first season, there is more mecha in the second season, but it's still not a major draw of the show.) So if someone sane went in expecting a typical mecha show might be disappointed since it's not that.

But most of the complaints spammed here aren't sane. Or based in reality at all.

The Media Blasters dub came after the Saturn Dub, the former is passable but has very awkward dialogue due to using literal poorly translated scripts resulting in weird english that does sound like the way americans talk.

The Saturn dub is lolcalization shit, so its worse.

Also check out the Ocean Pilot dub that only has one episode, that one has a decent translation but flat delivery and name changes (this was also the basis to some extent for the Latino dub made in the US)
