>>23221780She's as impulsive as Kamille (maybe even moreso), and as prone to Newtype addiction and poor decision making as Katz, Hathaway, or Quess. The difference there is Machu isn't denying reality to live in her own world, she simply prefers the world she's found instead. You could argue that Quess was clinically insane, unable to recognize that she was being manipulated and turned into a weapon of war to kill her own family, seeing little value in lives she wasn't connected to. Machu on the other hand is clinically SANE. She knows exactly what she's doing, and in the times where she realizes the scope of her situation has gone beyond her expectations she reacts appropriately, even if it's to steel herself to continue.
I think that makes a big difference. I can't stand Katz, Quess, and Hathaway, while I like Machu as a character.
