what's the benefit of chair leg configuration
i can understand centaur configuration or crab configuration, but when you get four legs placed at those awkward angles you're not moving fast in any direction

I always imagined it's to manage the rifle recoil

All four legs are stiffened to push against the shot, plus can't these things rotate at the waist or am I wrong? Would be useful for tracking a moving target to swivel but remain braced for each direction

rifle recoil would be much better managed by a centaur configuration, or something like a roo tail. maybe even by extra legs that are only deployed for recoil bracing. with legs so close together and all four knees at suboptimal angles, you're barely getting extra stability benefit.

The whole premise of the Devil Gundam and DG Cells seems really out of place in G-Gundam. The Devil Gundam is nightmare fuel, yet the main allure of G-Gundam is all the whacky martial arts, and less serious tone.

Why not 4? I'm a newfag who only watched requiem, some clips on jewtoob and always liked Armored Core more than gundam. The only tactical advantage is 3 legs weighs less and can provide more speex, but then whats the point since a 4th leg could mount a booster?

In universe, I don't know since I haven't started GQuuuuuux yet but the Dom here is a reimagining of the classic '79 design.

The third leg is its backpack which can be deployed as a third leg. Each leg has a hover system so I'm guessing the third improves mobility and stability.
When it's retracted as a backpack, it keeps the look of the old design.

I also prefer Armored Core designs. I just figured I'd bring up the Dom since Gundam mechs with more than two legs (especially available in HG form) aren't too common so the new Dom came to mind.

To be fair Requiem and YouTube clips are terrible ways to experience the series. A lot of Gundams appeal has almost nothing to do with its mechanical designs so if you only take it for that you’re missing the point, it’s a character drama first and foremost.

I would like a gundam to include the smaller mechs that sometimes show up in side works. More mobile workers, petite suits and small mobile armors would be nice. Also generally short mechs like the goblin.
