I did not think it was nearly as dull or intellectually pretentious as a lot of people claim...
However, I thought the characters were kind of subdued and low energy outside of the old guy in the Jet Jaguar crew.
And isolating the actual escalation of conflict from the sci-fi elements I didn't really feel like the quantum universe destroyer shit really felt necessary or even particularly appropriate from the actual scale the story itself reaches. It's like they were writing a lovecraftian elder god villain but just had the heroes deal with it without even having a brush with insanity or existential dread. You could easily have the non-linear plot elements (like Jet Jaguar being send a firmware update from the future to save the day) without having to open that can of worms.

Godzilla actually was supposed to be an avatar of one.
>but just had the heroes deal with it without even having a brush with insanity or existential dread.
To be fair Godzilla was just it's 3D shadow, the whole catastrophe thing was sorta to prevent its true self from entering.

Oh no, I got that, but the show isn't good enough to make itself entertaining, scientific terminology and a "complex" premise aren't enough to carry a show. The only way you would find it good is if you're a pseud who feels smart for understanding it, which given your insistent use of the term "filtering", seems to be your case.

I get that, and it just didn't feel like the show needed or even fully utilized a threat that big.
I feel like the quantum AI adventure idea and lovecraftian godzilla idea are both perfectly fine standalone ideas that are too big to fit into a series this short anyways.

I kinda had the impression the writer intended for more seasons/entries/whatever from stuff in the show itself that gets mentioned or is shown but never comes back up again (eg: Salunga being described as a Rival to Godzilla) but Netflix did what Netflix normally does and sorta pulled the plug, idk if Toho had much part in that.

I don't think anyone has a say when Netflix pulls a plug on the projects they put their fingers in.
Tsuburaya seemed very happy with Ultraman Rising's performance and keeps giving it video game appearances, making figures and featuring it in their big competitive card game, long after the initial marketing campaign for the movie. Yet Netflix says it didn't do well enough to get a continuation.

The Salunga being a rival thing was further backed up in a recent encyclopedia, even as far as comparing him to Kong, im pretty sure he was trying to consume the Shiva SP so he could get stronger and go fight Godzilla but feels like a loose end set up,
The showrunner described the Rodan as having a "Mysterious power" not archetype which feels like it was a set up for somehing that never got followed up on.
