Are you anons familiar with Yamato Takeru? It seems to be a fantasy robot series and it got a Moderoid release recently, thinking of checking it out. Not sure if anyone here has seen it.

I did watch a dozen or so episode before losing interest. It's a solid example of 90es mecha anime for kids. You might love it or get bored with it, but you won't know until you try.

It’s crazy this was a spin-off of the live action Toho film of the same name. And must have been more successful than the live action since it got an OVA sequel.

I watched this Nippon Animation show 31 years ago. Sadly, the Japanese grocery store I rented the VHS tapes from stopped carrying them before I got halfway through. What I saw of the first third or so: it starts slow then picks up. No idea how it ended.
