Beside the psycommu, do they have the same specs and performance? In main timeline, mobile suits developed better performance than RX 78-2 over time but in Gquux the mobile suits looks doesn't developed as much and still using OYW mobile suits. If Gquux RX 78 have the same performance as the main timeline, it quite impressive for RX 78 still hold up in 0085

The original got magnetic coating which never happened in Gquuux. The same scientists just tested it for clan battle. The major drivers of suit innovation where the Titans who combined Federation and Zeon tech via Anaheim Electronics. In Gquuux it seems like the GQuuux and the GFred were the first major advancements in MS technology since the OYW.

I mean it hasn't had to fight anything out of the scope of OYW tech yet. It was robbed of its fight with Psycho and Hamrabi and even though the GMified Gelgoog is a new idea it's essentially worse than an actual GM without Amuro's combat data.
This show really embellishes performance with animation. Remember how Insane it made swinging on a rope look before they revealed the trick? So I don't feel like we can really use that information to gauge it's performance. I assume it's intended to be the RX-78 + the Psycommu the Elmeth never got, but with no magnetic coating.

Gquux RX-78 most likely has poorer performance than the original RX-78 as it was at the end of the OYW due to not having the magnetic coating. Also visually it has less armor so that may be a factor as well. A lot of the MS tech in the series in general seems to be stagnated and less advanced compared to its UC counterparts at the same time period. Without the EF and AE absorbing a lot of Zeon engineers and the Zeon remnants backed into a corner it seems like there wasn't the same pressure to develop MS tech further as much.
