The payback was having unneccisarily going "look guys we're repairing and upgrading Mazinger don't worry" at least 5 times, having all the spacers combine with Mazinger instead of Grendizer, turning grendizer evil and having it be the final villain of the show that Mazinger deals with, and having Duke not even stand in the centre of the frame during the final post-victory scene
