Also, although there are balanced, melee and long range suits, overall the game seems designed as a grounded 3d beat en' up. Long range attacks are often limited in some ways, needing some time for recharge. There's no free flight at all, just jumps, air dashes, some rush attacks and air combos which keep you floating while they're going on.
Like the other anon said, you play with an OC, not the characters from the shows, who is suddenly taken to some kind of simulation with data from the various universes. You do get the characters from the shows and can take two of them as partners to the missions, but the only special dialogue they have are special intros with each other, they don't get dialogue against the enemies in the stages.
A neat feature is that it has bgms from various series and you can set them to trigger when using a special attack, overriding the stage's soundtrack.
