Whats peoples takes on Lupat? i never watched it back in the day but the phantom thieves rangers looked aesthetic as fuark so im giving it a go a few episodes in and happened to see a poll from the broadcast company polling the top ten sentai and it got voted number 5 and people seemed to be either super angry about that or saying "see all the stuff saying it nearly killed sentai was bullshit"

It’s been theorized that LuPat failing is why we have the current direction now, there’s a lot of weird stuff like Ryusoulger originally was a dragon sentai and broke the Dino pattern, Kiramager and Donbros bringing back popular writers and Shirakura’s grand keikaku but nothing outright confirmed. This franchise is also in a weird slump period where it’s gaining an adult fanbase but little kids just don’t give a shit about it so you get shit like King-Ohger being a flop while simultaneously being the most popular show of all time.

The show’s main appeal of being two rivaling teams is ignored shortly after the sixth ranger joins and they don’t even try to hide it.
The Lupinrangers will use and keep items that were clearly made for the Patrens while they are stuck with nothing. (Ex. an upgrade for Patren Ichigo is given to the sixth). They get shit on a lot.
The main writer makes nice characters but infamously makes weak plots that stall and are not resolved until the very end of the show.

LuPat's villains are also legitimately some of the worst Sentai has ever had imo, I'm so glad we're past Insarn clones

Because it dared have an actually serialized plot and very slight character study instead of fixating on doing the same thing about 40 other seasons did at that point that has made Sentai become a low-priority franchise for Bandai. Sentai-onlies, who are second only to Rider-onlies in terms of sheer autism, see this as though it's not a "real" Super Sentai season, not realizing it lasted this long in SPITE of its traditionalism when experimentation was the thing that resurrected Rider and Ultraman and rote repetition killed Metal Heroes. I don't get the hate for Mashiro. Sure, he's full of himself (and I like that larger than life attitude), but he's not a complete asshole either. His actor doesn't suck like Hoeru's, and Hoeru himself is kind of an asshole so seeing him being put in his place is satisfying. Hoeru will probably end up surpassing Mashiro at some point anyways, so it's not like they won't get even nor that Mashiro won't get humbled at some point.

King-Ohger's world-building, music, characters and mecha action are generally considered to be top-tier. It's really different from usual Sentai since a lot of elements feel very shounen-esque and the show is fully serialized.
The biggest issues the show has is the non-mecha action, which is most of the show since they hardly use their mecha in the second half, the violet ranger getting shafted compared to the rest the cast and the overuse of CGI. Also the show changes drastically in the second half which some people didn't enjoy but most people felt the second half was still good.
Basically just watch the first 3 to 5 episodes and determine from there if the characters feel annoying to you, if they don't feel annoying continue, if you find them annoying then stop.

Best cast of actors our of any Sentai, I'm not even exaggerating, King-Ohger overall has the most consistently good acting pug of any season, most likely because in spite of their looks the cast is older than usual.
I wished they'd kept the tactic they adopted from Kiramager to King-Ohger where hey get actors slightly older and how are kind of hardcore fans of the franchise since I felt it helped improve acting a lot.
