>>23321842 (OP)For me it's that looking at all the marketing and the anime I'd expect a hack and slash with some occasional giant bosses, something trying to be like Gundam Breaker. But from the outset you notice all the grunts melt before your melee string is even over and the main emphasis is "stand around dodging attacks while shooting."
For me, way too many dull RPG mechanics, can't stand the "manage ten billion drops of gear" genre and there have been games that I mechanically gelled with more than Musashi that I dropped over it slaughtering the game's pace with forcing you to micromanage stats and menus.
It's paced like a mobile game, beyond just all the micromanagement and the login bonus. The initial missions are like 70 seconds long, if you take your time with them. It moves the emphasis away from the action and back into reading menus. Makes it feel more like a bait and switch.
And now there is also a competent Breaker title available on PC. And while the writing of Musashi is notably top-notch I hear that the only major difference between the game and the anime is that the game has a short post-story segment that doesn't live up to the anime's quality.
