Does this show get better and should I pick it back up? Can I at least turn it to 1.5x speed when its romance slop? I care about military drama and mecha, not some hair dying muff diver and her dyke romance. Also I know the evangelion mangaka wrote the show. I also think evangelion was overrated, pretentious, ruined by teen romance and it insists upon itself desu.

I'm really struggling to figure out which scene you're even referring to here if you're talking about the first episode. Is it the scene where Nyaan crashes into Machu at the train station and breaks her phone? The scene where Machu tracks her down and taunts her with the Installer Key for the Zaku at the shrine? Even without the context from future episodes that both of them want to fuck Shuji neither of these scream "yuri bait" like the shit you'd see in WFM did. I hate how tossed around the term yuri bait is on this board lately to refer to any scene where two girls interact with one another, it's lost it's meaning altogether.
