Any recommendations on mecha /lit/? I want to get more into reading for my own writing and don't know what would be "relatively" sfw on a plane.

SFW literature?
Is your boss going to be reading over your shoulder on a plane?

STARSHIP TROOPERS
Tomino's Gundam novels (you can read the OG trilogy, Zeta, both versions of CCA, the one about Lala, Hathaway's Flash, the first two of Victory, and most of Gaia Gear. And For the Barrel if you're a true /m/an.)
The Forever War
Battletech / Mechwarrior novels
Macross (1983) novels
The RahXephon LNs
All 20 volumes of Heavy Object
Full Metal Panic... How many of these are there? I can't remember but really nice 1990s/2000s kino.

I like what I've read of 86. It's schlock and the first book is pretty bad outside of the actual mecha fights, which are really well written in my opinion. They're easy to follow and they paint a good picture of the speed and power of the mechs. 2nd volume onwards is better.

Also obligatory mention of the LOGH books.

I'll take a look.

It's more of pictures like I know some light novels have random ass shower scenes out of nowhere. I'm not a prude but feels kinda awkward reading these in public.

yeah, but all those damn words in it you'd never know if you didn't look closely
less trollish response, the Battletech books are pretty nifty, but iirc there's a revised version to avoid

if you're looking to get into reading the old James Blish TOS novelizations are very nice easy reads

I don't personally know, but from what I've heard around the mid-late 00s or so there was an attempt to bring it into line with the Robotech comics and other crap of the time with very mixed results
I _think_ that predates the turboshit comics with Minmay literally warping peoples minds and shit traced from that gachimuchi thing
