this desu, gundam isn't really that popular anymore but it moves merch like no other anime can. Bandai's dream is to be able to sell unassembled plastic robot toys to man-children without the sunk cost of a new anime production every year or two.

Hi-Nu is their lightning in a bottle they wish to be able to recreate on a regular basis, a design so appealing that it sells model kits even though its mere existence is a contradiction to the actual Nu Gundam.

They still make a MG Xi (MG Penelope is a 0% chance), Xi Missile Pod, IIRC Penelope had some secret armor developed that's mentioned in the novel but never used, and whatever grunt suits they can just make up out of thin air. My money is on a new Jesta.
