The films don't rectify that as much, but they fix some issues. For me, one of the bigger issues was just how casually it treated killing people.

The show was easy to follow. You tards just put it on in the background like zoomers with the attention span of fruit flies. Considering the number of people on this board who frequently demonstrate their failure to understand plot points in Mobile Suit Gundam, Zeta, and Char's Counterattack I can't say I'm surprised. Those are just more forgiving because they have big, spectacular set pieces at the end to wrap things up so retards can go "I made it to the end!"

The truth no one wants to admit out loud is that at the time of making G-Reco, Tomino has fully slipped into "Old Man Yells at Cloud" era of mental acuity.

He used to ramble in the first 5-10 eps of a show before the story truly locked in. But in G-Reco, it was rambling all the way through, with not much a plot to hold it together. Stuff just "happened".

Things G Reco did well: Characters (personality/design), Animation, and world Building.

Things G-Reco did poorly: Storytelling, Plot, Mecha Design, Coherency.

I don’t think Tomino was insane or senile or anything, I think he just went overboard with full creative control and only later realized it (not unlike George Lucas with The Phantom Menace). He was in charge of writing and storyboarding and directed the voice actors in a way that several came out and said they couldn’t understand their characters.

Movies 1-3, and 5 are nearly identical to the bluray version. There's a few recuts, some QUALITY moments were partially redrawn but have the same storyboarding, there's like one extended fight scene, and they composited some new effects on top of the old animation, like the G-Self's eyes. They're basically just quality fixes. Movie 4 is the only one with significant changes to the fleet battle, but it's still the same narratively and content-wise. You literally haven't watched the movies.
