Their perks weren't as effective in space as they were on earth. Given how M'quve also did not want to risk the Doms on Ramba Ral 'We've chosen to evacuate the Doms first' was probably the orders given once Zeon began abandoning Earth for the spacefront. So most of the surviving Gouf units after Odessa likely never left. Unless their parts were cannibalized for the war effort, though, logically there should still be some Goufs in Zeon space that never made it to earth and could have gotten the Rick refit treatment.

the buildings were extra large for the gouf to hide behind and stand on, plus the feds have no radar or spotters looking around even though there's no ship to scatter minovsky particles nearby, so they don't really have a way of tracking him other than listening for sounds

also it was almost magical how even though the guntanks were also hiding behind buildings and even inside one, norris just automatically knew exactly where all of them were

The manga makes a point of that brigade being a decorated but mostly ceremonial unit not expected to actually fight. As such, they're given a lot of nice but unnecessary equipment, like cold weather gear the army doesn't need now that they've been kicked off Earth. I'd imagine their Gouf is a similar story.

The gatling is in a bit of a weird spot. I like it on my Flight type to a degree but it's tricky to use right solo. Great in a teamfight.

You have to position yourself well enough to use it where you can plink down supports or get them in a stun then go in and also know when to disengage. But the majority of Custom players just charge in get rolled and repeat until you're down twice the score of the enemy. I don't really have any issues with it as before I quit I could top damage and kills easily by using my brain, it's the people who flock to it that make me hate seeing it.
