Pretty much. The loss of Earth is going to have catastrophic effects on all colonies, plus their de facto independence means they have nobody to protect them from whatever neo-neo-zeon shithole starts gassing everyone next. It's like how there were a million little wars in Eastern Europe after both Germany and Russia got their teeth kicked in in WW1 and left a power vacuum, but far larger in scale.
We allowed the Federation senate to be purged by Haman under the reasoning that we need to be unshackled from them to become effective governors of the Earth Sphere, and they were probably going to try and stupidly re-impose an order that is obviously never coming back. But it's going to be a continuous problem for AEUG even if it wins this war that there is no monolithic power base left to govern from. The best we might hope for is a loose confederation of independent settlements which still leaves considerable room for radicals to rise up, and when they do, we have no way to be sure that the other colonies would join in putting them down.
Basically, we just entered a warring states period and it's hard to see how it could end.

Yeah, that does seem like the main hurdle and unfortunately the series itself doesn't seem like it will be giving us any answers. Maybe a way around this would be to unlock some of Zeon's latter mobile suits like the Act Zaku and reframe it as the Federation's attempt to beef up their existing stockpile of captured Zaku II(s). Similarly, the Federation could gain access to early Titans mechs, like the Hizack and Galbaldy β. Another option is that the Federation invests early in transformable mobile suits as a way to reclaim their edge over Zeon now that they've got the Gundam. By 0085, the not-Titans have access to a crude Hambrabi.

You could also justify Federation having Zeon tech due to competition between Gihren and Kycilia factions in Zeon. Both of those could plausibly have people willing to leak techs to Feddies in order to create their homemade false flags to either get rid of or discredit the other faction.

They were able to make a psycho gundam and hambrabi much earlier which mean a lot of RD is being done. The big problem is we were never shown what type of main stay ms they're using. So we don't know if they're still building their ms based on the light/guncannons or not. I wouldn't be suprised to see them using ms like the Light cannon II(GM cannon II), Hizack cannon, rick dias, Gundam MKIII, and other mobile suits with built in backpack weapons if they still are. Though i would assume it would take a lot of time and work to remake the tech tree.

A true Gqx inspired run seems out of the question, but a modified Kycillia or even Gihren run taking some inspiration would be neat.
Divorced from that, I've actually been hoping for a full Zeon campaign where the object is to balance our alignment to keep the Zabis together at all costs while more minor events would include stealing and reproducing every Gundam the normal events will let us get our hands on (Blue Destiny, Alex, the Ral White Base capture.) and then after the war we sell our designs to the Titans (who'd be fluffed as Fed hardliner terrorists) and AEUG/Casval's NZ to see what they develop so we can steal those too. Other thoughts include saving Degwin but allowing him to get nuked by the Titans to justify our involvement in this version of Gryps, dabbling in EXAM a bit but drop active use until we can replace it with some refinement, hijacking a MK II ourselves and maybe even kidnapping Franklin and setting him up with some nice digs to make him mass produce the MK II for us (fluffed as Barzams and customs for MK II variants), gathering all the bastard Zabi kids together and prepping them to take over some day, hoping they won't be at each other's throats like the previous generation. Just a pragmatic family man Gihren run

I would have her start with excellent NT power but below average combat stats, but with the ability to grow those stats faster than the average unit. Not as fast as Asherah this run but enough to end up as, well, a somewhat subpar Gundam MC, definitely below Amuro, Kamille, and Judau, but still an ace you can rely on in big moments.
This is where GG could benefit from some kind of "eccentricity" or "bravado" stat. Machu would be basically maxed out for just doing crazy bullshit that should get her killed all the time.
Would be hugely in favour of any attempt to implement GQuX characters into any kind of run if you can get some decent art for them.

Kind of generic but fits with UC mainline. Deux could just be a partially failed Cyber Newtype that is used for tracking those with Newtype potential and assassination duties where she could be disposed of if it goes wrong. It does tread a little close to the Rosamia arc from Zeta but would be an excuse for her and Amate and become temporary friends before having to fight one another. Could also give her an amphibious theme. Never really had a Cyber Newtype infatuated with the ocean before.

Side 6 was officially neutral during the OYW despite secretly aiding the Federation and its Gundam Alex development project. Given the post-war situation, I think that Side 6's neutrality has becoming increasingly tenuous. Zeon's idea of spacenoid independence seems to be making all the non-Side 3 colony clusters vassal states and are already strong arming their way around Side 6's officials. Internally, I'd imagine that a lot of citizens might have a kind of "buyer's remorse" over the Federation losing the war, because leveraging their neutrality is much harder now that the Federation's space presence is minimal if not outright gone.

A lot of the antagonist feel like fodder to be honest. Most seem to not die long after being introduced.

Though Deux seems to be under Bask's direct command so I guess we could do something with that. She also seems quite stable (if you ignore the Kirakira disappeared incident) but fragile compared to Four and Rosamia. Copy x could probably come up with a story for the whale plush if she gets added into a playthrough.

Wow, that turned out well! Here are the rough drafts for Nyaan and Deux. Based Nyaan's proportions off of Roux since she is portrayed as taller/lankier than Machu and I thought it fit a bit better than other Z/ZZ characters. Deux is based on Ple 2, quite pleased with how her face turned out.
I think Nyaan's hair was pretty easy to translate into an 80's anime style, not quite happy with Deux's yet. May have oversimplified it a bit. Also need to add her bandaid(?).
Open to any suggestions or inspirations.

The main problem with Deux's forehead is that it's mishappen. It bulges outward and to the sides, so her head looks a bit like an apple. The size of the forehead and other features look really good though. While Nyaan looks just about perfect.

On the edge of Axis, Sarah forces Nanai to remotely destroy her own creations.

My (Zero) perspective on Nyaan for where to put her:

Nyaan seems very mercenary as a character. The goal she has is to actualize Absolute Power over the world as a means of seizing control of her own life. I could see her easily siding with the Titans, Scirocco or Axis depending. Whoever gives her the most power and security is who she's going to align herself with. So whether that is Jamitov and the belief the Titans will win the War and thus, she'll come out on top. Axis and Haman offering her what Kycillia does, Glemy giving her a place at his side, Char once more seeing a Newtype to manipulate.

She's very unlikely to wind up with the AEUG except in a Reccoa/Scirocco situation Starting with the AEUG before realizing that she has no satisfaction fighting for 'generic liberty'

Connection wise, I think she'd actually work will with those stated above, but also Yazan and Rakan, She has that "Will to fight and kill" that they share that innate willingness to kill to survive. But ultimately her primary motivator should always be "Nyaan above all." She won't fight for a losing cause, she's not a patriot, she is fighting to actualize her will over all else. Everyone is a tool and stepping stone. In that same vein she'd fit the Jerid mold, and definitely be willing to undergo Cyber Enhancement if offered, so long as she maintained control. She might reject it due to losing 'part of herself' and her 'self' is the most valuable part of her.

She wouldn't abandon them for another side without good reason, but like she wouldn't stick around for the victory celebrations. She might ditch entirely to go off on her own. I just do not see her as someone risking her life without benefit. Her Newtype moments show that she is intoxicated with Absolute Power, that she never needs to worry or be frightened or have anyone who can exert power over her. She worked well with Kycillia because Kycillia doted on her, I think she'd brutally clash with Bright or any other serious commander the way Beecha and Mondo do at first. But much like how Beecha/Mondo do it at a universal weak point for the AEUG (with the belief they're enriching themselves and one ship won't change the war) Nyaan wouldn't do it believing it could lead to her death.

Fa's heinously damaged Nero is left derelict from its damage. Moving his Bawoo next to the crippled machine, Mashymre pulls open Fa's cockpit, opening his own to leap inside with her.

Still working out the finer details of her hair, but I'm much happier with this draft so far.
Parting farther to the side and adjusting the curve of her forehead plus the volume of her bangs seems to have helped. Tried to go with tightly parted and pinned to keep the bangs out of the way, while going for a looser and unkempt appearance everywhere else.
The wide forehead on the initial draft was somewhat intentional, but it didn't work as well with Deux's hairstyle compared to Ple's and was definitely misshapen on the earlier draft. One of the troubles with staring at something for so long is that it gets hard to tell what exactly is off, which is why I appreciate the constructive feedback you guys have been giving.
As for Shiiko, she's probably my favourite GQuacks character design, especially with the messier hair after taking off her helmet. Will give her a shot too once Nyaan and Deux are finished.

You're right, that's Sarah Karn there. Sarah herself died and was remade in Haman's image, but this part of her (the desire to be with Kamille) is still driving her, it's from way back when Kamille was opening mind links with people and did it to Sarah during the Scirocco situation. Have some drafts for Shiiko. I felt that Mirai/Bright styled eyes were sort of the obvious way to go with reimagining her design. She ends up looking rather plain with the simple hairstyle too, but I think it works.
Also did a draft with the OYW pilot helmet too since most of the examples I could find with the matching suit had helmets on. Not sure what you guys would prefer, or can do both, one for OYW and the other for transplanting to a later uniform, maybe Titans(?).
