In UC there were mining operations on Mars. They also had mining in the Asteroid belt (Axis was one of them) and an outpost on Pluto.

Really funny how Jupiter is the farthest humanity can travel when they got advanced giant robots, self-sustainable space colonies and superhuman psychics.

It's less that it's the furthest they can travel and moreso the furthest they care to travel. There's nothing worthwhile beyond Jupiter within the solar system, and you can't take a standard colony and yeet it into interstellar space with expectation that it'll reach new stars eventually because these colonies work on solar. It's like asking russians "you have all this technology, why do none of you live in Siberia?"

there's a pretty damn big gap between Jupiter and Saturn (relative to their distance from the sun)

For all that, anon, space is fuckhuge, but more to the point Gundam's technology simply does not allow for expedient long distance space travel.

not really. a giant robot and a space colony dont change the speed of light or give you infinite energy to accelerate constantly

I would assume some smaller moons and asteroids are also mined. not having an atmosphere, or just skimming the upper layers, and not needing to get back into orbit from a planets surface make space launches significantly easier

IIRC Earth to Jupiter is a 3 month trip in Crossbone, so it would take around 1.5 years to get to Neptune from Earth. Not too bad.

What were the Jovians up to during the OYW? Did they have an internal civil war between Feddie and Zeon supporters?

They were quietly observing the events of the war while profiting through the Helium-3 trade. The early loyalists of the Jupiter Empire were plotting around this time but they were in the shadows. They bought up and stole a lot of surplus mobile suits after the war though. They may have got a few during the war but it seems they got a lot of zeek shit after Zeon lost, which is where their unique MS program really got off the ground. What isn't clear is when they acquired Federation mobile suits or if they got their hands on any Zeon MS engineers like Anaheim did. We can guess they got some via the Titans and Scirocco or even buying them from corrupt Feddies but we just don't know. We know they did get some at some point, just not when.

We are talking about incomprehensibly huge scales here, the Solar System is an absurdly big playground and we've got millions of years left before the Sun enters the late phase of its life, no need to go past Jupiter just yet.

As far as Feddie stuff foes, we do know they got Amuro's core fighter and all its learning computer data when it drifted into their space.

It didn't drift into their space, they stole it from the feds

you fucking losers didn't even read the story it came from and you're casting judgment on shit that never happened, based on your faulty-ass memories

I mean I know it's crossbone, but at least make sure the shit you're shit-talking is true
