Gquuuuuux is indefensible. fans of other series that missed the mark can actually point to interesting sci-fi concepts or war drama aspects that weren't pulled off right or failed to have a satisfying pay off but they can still say what they found intriguing about the series, aka why it should exist in the first place

We have to finally admit it and get it out there to move on.
That we're all just watching gundam to this day to try and relive the glory of the original. We're like Star Wars fans.

I can only appreciate MS IGLOO and some parts of Z and ZZ (things like Reccoa's betrayal, Four, Katz, the Purus etc)

Everything else they made was just underwhelming. Tomino himself screwed around too much instead of just going all the way into space opera mixed with war drama. That's what we wanted from real robot. Not victory's replaceable parts. We needed a mass produced GM actually becoming the protagonist and character-driven drama, not a kid blowing shit up. We didn't get that, so we got stuff like 8th ms team that suffered from needing some big mcguffin to make a ridiculous high stakes plot about. (We already had psycho gundam, it's not cool anymore.)
In fact it's probably why Votoms was so popular. Or why vifam felt more gundam than a lot of gundam afterwards. We had people who got it, but it was never the "Gundam" people who instead chased making nonsense for "new audiences" that never liked what made gundam famous. And here we are. More and more nonsense and less and less Gundam0079. Somehow Anno got to influence Gundam now after fucking up his own reboots completely without survivors. What a joke
