As a major SEED hater who had it tied for last place prior to Gcucks, I actually disagree. SEED's major problem is being too long and animation reuse. There's plenty of major issues with plot and characters, but if you shortened the anime (without going way overboard like the compilation movies) then you could fix a lot of the problems.

I don't think any number of extra episodes could ever fix Gcucks. It's fundamentally broken at a basic level. SEED shamelessly copies 0079 in many many ways, but you don't NEED to watch 0079 to understand it. Gcucks fully relies not just on pre-existing intimate knowledge of the entire UC timeline, but also on raw nostalgiabaiting without any real merit.

Except there is a merit, like it or not (I certainly don't): nostalgia makes money. Original projects don't get a lot of traction with audiences, and Bandai is very much aware of that.

now id give it a 4 never delivered on what people expected from a "zeon won" story and the devolution into multiverses did nothing cool or novel with the concept

Is a 4/10 actually harsh? Are we rating it relatively to the other anime (assume a 10/10 is something like Cowboy Bebop) or the potential quality of a short mini tv series as a whole? I would think most people on /m/ believe the average anime is bad since the average poster skews older and tends to be more knowledgeable than the most anime watchers.
