I think there's some genuinely great tracks in there. Both vocal and ambient.
But I agree with you that the combination of j-pop over the (let's be generous) "visually dense" fights gave me a headache.
I'm looking forward to the OST release, they're selling a 3 CD special edition so hopefully we get many compositions and not just the insert songs.

I feel that GQuacks' soundtrack was done almost with the Clan Battles and Side 6 part in mind. There's a sense of civilian life to them and a reckless teenager mentality, but that doesn't fit nearly as well after Episode 7. Most Gundam shows would get a new OP and/or ED by then to emphasize the further stakes, but GQuacks had so few episodes that it didn't get either. The OP kind of still fit even if it didn't really match the "oh shit" nature of the show past Episode 7, and the ED felt like a troll at that point reminding Machu and Nyaan of how they ruined their lives.

I don't expect a sequel any time soon unfortunately.
But if they make one, i'd like it to be about Machu and Nyaan taking turns piloting the GQuuuuuux on some equivalent of the clan-battles on earth. It could answer the questions about why they're having fun on earth instead of struggling like you said.
I like the idea of having two pilots for one MS coupled with underground fighting sports, you could have fun with it. Maybe lean a bit toward a mob story using the collapse of the FED as background.
