This whole kira-kira thing is Minovsky Particles, right? Does it the green particles from Axis Shock are also Minovsky Particles?

I may just be a lotelet here, but before this show, I thought Newtype senses and psycommu systems were ways of circumventing the interference brought about by minovsky particles.
But this show makes it seem like minovsky particles themselves react to Newtype phenomena directly. They even talk about minovsky particle anomolies as if their synonymous with 'zeknovas'. Has it always been that way and I missed it?

This seemed weird to me. I-fields are not exclusively psycommu tech. So making minovsky particle manipulation into a Newtype thing seems kind of arbitrary.

Even things like the ZZ's telekinesis or pushing back Axis can be explained by things like minovsky propulsion and buoyancy, properties exploited for the minovsky drive and minovsky craft respectively. I mean, even the colony laser block can be explained with just a gigantic beam shield.

Yes, generally Newtypes do their thing in spite of minovsky interference, not specifically USING minovsky interference.
This is actually a significant change because it essentially means standard battleships can now detect when Newtypes are fucking around by tracking abnormal spikes in minovsky density, essentially giving visibility to Newtypes on the battlefield when other pilots would have the element of surprise.

This is a retcon specific to this show. It's frankly one of my few problems with the show as a whole. It's not a good retcon.

The exhaust pipes of the V2 can just do that. You can see it when he deflects Katejina's final attack. He doesn't use newtype abilities to do it, he has to physically contort the V2's body in order to make a cape that deflects the beam

Funny you mention that, the Phantom has a shit load of I-fields installed to keep its minovsky drive stabilized to the point it became an oven after a few minutes.

I don't blame the translator for assuming it has greater meaning that simply hadn't revealed itself yet. Specially with how Deux alluded to it, it seemed like it was more than Machu being cute.
But then it just stopped being important. Just like "Mavs". They pay quick lip service to Mavs again when Machu and Nyaan team up but neither final battle actually involves Mav combat. The show creating jargon just for fighting with a partner had no real payoff. It just sounded cool I guess.
