Nyaan didn't even care about blasting Earth either despite Kycilia making it clear that Yomagn'tho will make Earth be gone either. There needed to be more time to build Nyaan back up from this moral and psychological nadir.

To put it simply, Nyaan was written like she is female(because she is). she has no accountability or sense of responsibility and acts purely on emotion and in the moment. There is no moral or psychological quandary because being female she wouldn't even consider it. Machu is also the same for that matter. Most of her violence can be chocked up to not understanding how deep she was in, or having to so what she has to do to survive, but killing those scientists felt like a very deliberate optional decision.
It also feels retroactively fucked up because those scientists
1. Had no intention of firing the Yomagn'tho.
and
2. Were very instrumental in helping Lalah and the universe by building the thing.
