Think itโ€™s the number of lines. For victory gundam they asked the mechanical designers to reduce the number of lines in their designs to make it easier on the animators. Also they stopped shading for most of that show, thatโ€™s a bitch for hand drawn mecha

It's just like in the USA, Japan workforce pay became costly since the 80's and people flee to the better paying jobs. Also because since the age of digitalization, the suits think you can make more animes in the same time. So there is no longer time to train animators and a lot of positions like in-betweeners have become a prime target for outsourcing.

You can fudge transformations of parts of the human body that you can't really with mecha because people pick up the geometric inconsistencies more easily. Organic animation is built on exaggeration whereas mechanical animation is based on precision (to a degree; of course you want to hit a certain level of precision and then have it be slightly off for dat sovl).

This is the most frustrating part, as a ahit artist in my 30s who was counting on the gauntlet of production to shape me into a proficient drafter and writer. Unfortunately the kind of experience that you get in actual production environment can't be replicated working on your own or even in school.

0079 was pretty notorious for having some fucked up frames where the robots were basically fudged like people. it just doesn't really work.

But you know how these companies are. they have to increase profitability and that rarely comes from paying animators more. it comes from working them harder for less money.

That's why I included the part of 'bullshit your way'. A director like Yuasa can convince the suits to let him "experiment" with a similar approach. But again, that is not want the current industry pursues.
>>23348440
And to be honest, I don't know if the japanese have the ability to taught it. There are a lot of heavy detailed and technically good works by foreign animators that can be squared on the anime pipeline and most of the AD prefer to chop it down or just decline it, instead of give the corrections to the animator. There is also a lot of cultural bagage involved but more than 10 years have passed since the debut of Chengxi Huang as the new face in anime and nobody has reached the same status on mainstream anime. Unless you are counting Abel Gongora.

Such as? The majority of animation from anywhere is pretty poor regardless of where you get it from honestly. In any case if they truly cared about lack of qualified personal they would just train them, but that's more expensive than just hoping they materialize out the ether so corporate execs would never go for it.

Not even that but that designs like that are just totally unsellable now to begin with, the market wants absolute fucking disasters like Banshee and chincoid bootlegs. If you go beyond the Gundam series that still use 2D just because like the last time someone successfully did anything with 2D mecha on TV was Gurren Lagann. Hell basically the last time anyone tried (I'm not even going to count Amaim for reasons) was FranXX which explains itself and Regalia which ended up a production disaster anyways.

Yeah and you probably only watched like two or three of those because they are from big franchises, how many of the retards that complain shows used to be longer have watched stuff like Voltes or Daimos? If a show like that was released today it would receive the same amount of complaints a short show or one with CG receives.

Why is the english Gundam community in particular lead around by a bunch of liars? I feel like most communities are able to separate the actual reliable sources from unsubstantiated rumors and hoaxes, but Gundam has shit like this instance, and even big names in the community like Zeonic just arbitrarily spreading half truths and missinformation.
Hell, things like the made up Quess ghost ending for Hathaway's Flash and rumors that Loran was intended to be a girl were fabricated ideas propagated way later than should have been acceptable.
I'm sure there's already at least one of these lies making rounds regarding GQuuuuuux by now.
