Truth, it's a anatomical adaption to having powerful fast movement on quadruped predators. Silly on a biped.
Bipedal toe walkers are chickens and their dinosaur ancestors, requiring a completely different anatomy.
I'll give Titanfall props for doing their part to keep mecha alive, but their designs are just okay.
