Gyunei is supposed to be Char's personal bodyguard. So it's possible he heard Char say Lalah at one point, and then Gyunei looked up Lalah's old Zeon war records. From there he was able to piece together what happened.

Then when Quess joined Neo Zeon. Gyunei fell in love with her, but Quess loved Char. So Gyunei became like a petulant child and started spreading rumors throughout the Neo Zeon fleet about Char and Lalah.
