Any direct reference to the original TV series seems to be trying to retcon and/or 'improve' it in some way, even in that Gaim Heisei vs Showa Riders crossover movie, Kusaka's death is shown altered despite being the same place, beach and all. Which might be somewhat justified by some time fuckery with Drive and Zi-O, but you know that shit does not stick...

At this point I feel like there is a desire to remake it, but at the same time one of the hooks of original 555 was it's own, huh, 'trainwreck-ness' that simply cannot be replicated.
