Daemon X Machina Titanic Scion

Heavy armor looks to be more of a temporary pwer up with limited customization, the powersuit type Arsenals will still be the main focus of the game.

It sounds like you can't change the weapons or armor on heavy armor. The difference in loadouts seems like it might be just being able to choose different models. I assume the ability to transform is the primary reason for limiting it like that.

Looks interesting.
That gauge being the time limit, the ammo count, and the health bar for the heavy armor is a bit much though.

Honestly, it doesn't even look like you can choose different models. There IS a different model in one of the trailers (that nonetheless still uses the same shoulder cannons), but I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't pilotable. Especially if it only differs in appearance. But who knows.
Maybe in DXM3 we'll have both customizable suits and customizable mechs.

Disregard the deleted post.
I didn't even realize the trailer actually did feature slightly different models. So you might be right, though I wish you weren't. It makes sense then that the only customization they showed off for it was visual, meaning it's all there is.
Shame. Maybe DXM3 will offer more, as long as they don't decide to start from scratch again.

In some of the gameplay footage you can see him two handing a heavy weapon, blocking his left hand slot, so this game is perfect for me. My niche power armor fetish is heavy two handed weapons, so I'm sold. Surprisingly rare to find sometimes since AC doesn't do it.

AC should have course corrected from allowing standard weapons in the left hand long ago, but it took the series until its fifth PS2 game to even start acknowledging the existence of analog sticks, so it's no wonder nothing was ever done about that.

Lol they let you ride on the alien horse when you have a jet pack? I love pointless shit like this.

I like that they're getting away from being a mid Armored Core clone and doing it's own thing now. The aliens look pretty boring and grey but the gameplay looks good. It'll be fun to explore and get into fights. I just hope they add enough enemy pilot fights since those were the only non retarded enemies in the first game (and it looks the same here).

Well, the horse doesn't seem to use any stamina to ride, so it's probably faster in the long run than switching on boosters, switching them off, waiting to regen, switching them on again, etc
Anonymous No.23367303
>>23367188
In the gameplay I saw it looks like while you're flying if you run out of stamina you hardly descend at all and can still move forward while your stamina recharges so you can boost again.

Maybe flight is unlocked later or staying in the air without stamina is a skill you unlock.

I wish someone with early access would actually pay attention to how aiming works, since even the official gameplay breakdown ignores it. But it does seem like there's explicit/visible aim assist when you're not hardlocked, so you can almost pretend there's a tiny lockbox in the middle. Should be quite enough for MKB.

They've shown a dual katana HA before so maybe you can change your arm equipment, or maybe it's just a different standardized setup.
For better or worse, this is fertile ground for the same kind of DLC they made for the first game where you'd get full body skins for your arsenal, but this time around they might make DLCs with specific setups as it looks like HA uses the same animation rig and animations as the human models anyway, don't be surprised if such a thing happens.

It's weird because I've been on a /m/ game kick but after bouncing through the AC roster I ended up just replaying DxM from top to bottom again.

Even after revisiting fa I think DxM just has my favorite movement. Due in part to how fun blinking is and the fact that you can control the distance you blink with player input timing. Combine that with the speed of movement and the overall control and it's just hard to get that experience in any other game.

AC6 is an insult to the series, but DXM was just an insult to itself honestly. It's not that I was expecting a renamed AC game (which it wasn't), but I had to try and enjoy it in spite of the weightless permaflight, some weapon types feeling like absolute shit to use, the dumb characters, the forced red highlights, legs not only being less varied but effectively useless, the loot mechanics, and the on-foot mode that existed for some reason.
I was still hoping they'd refine all that for the sequel instead of starting from scratch, but what they're doing with TS looks fun enough on its own, so it doesn't feel like much of a loss all things considered. Meanwhile Project Six might actually be releasing relatively soon rather than never.

From a recent interview:

>“This time, we set out to make a more accessible story by maintaining the same depth but narrowing the scope. We hold great respect for various works of science fiction, manga, movies, and anime, and I believe our story will resonate with fans of these genres, giving them a lot to think about. Take the robot character Toby, for example, who references the robot Astro Boy. Astro Boy was created by Dr. Tenma after his son died. However, Dr. Tenma’s son’s name was actually Tobio, and the name Toby was chosen as a tribute to him.

>“I would like players to enjoy everything. We designed the gameplay so that players can experience everything. I also want players to jump into online play. Other players can revive you if you fall in battle while playing co-op, so there’s nothing to fear.”

Kinda lame how the "heavy armor" doesn't have the old Arsenal control scheme. It's just a bigger model for the normal power armor character. Also lame how we can only customize the decals and colors but not the actual mecha. But the worst thing about it is how fast it runs out. There better be a way to upgrade that and massively extend the duration. Or else I'll be using cheat engine.

Most of it is just the MechWarrior boomer mindset of "it needs to have 50 deticated hotkeys". Not that its a bad mindset for certain games, it works fine for something like Earthsiege or Steel Battalion. But it is silly to try and apply that mindset to something like Armored Core. Fighting the map borders is one of the most annoying parts of japanese action games and for some reason it shows up in mecha stuff a lot. DxM really suffered from it, more than any of the ACs I've played.

Nothing worse than an enemy fucking retreating into the "you lose the mission" zone and then fighting you from there like he knows what the deal is.

See what's funny is at an earlier point in DXM's development you would go into an autopilot state to return you to within boundaries, but everyone complained about how it seized control away from the player back when the preview build was made publicly available, and in the final release build it went back to the more traditional out of bounds = fail state method.

I was there, everyone hated the autopilot return and legit wanted the very problem you're complaining about to be implemented instead.

I can believe them, that sounds annoying too. Doesn't it still do it but only the top of the playable area? I remember being super pissed at fighting flying enemies that would go high when you'd be forced to fly back down over and over.

You could just nudge the NPCs towards the playable area as well, there's no reason to have the player stuck in the map borders and the enemies that can just go wherever the fuck they want. I wouldn't have a problem with the map borders if neither of us go near them.

The first game had model locked to camera but with unrestricted mouselook on PC. Turn speed as a mechanic with uncoupled camera can also be implemented for the sake of the game feeling better with MKB -- where you can look around freely, but the mech needs time to catch up to actually shoot in that direction.
They're separate things, and there are reasons one might want just one or the other. Personally, I like MKB-enabled action games with no lock-on where the character attacks in camera's direction (melee included) even if they're not necessarily looking there at all times.

To be fair, in the lead up to AC6 people were doing a fair bit of BUT WHAT IF OPEN WORLD THO and getting excited for it.
Plus so far into the demo the vibe sure does feel like the player character is fighting in an insurgent role as opposed to the structured organization that the previous game put you in, so shifting from mission based to a free form open map tracks thematically if that's the case.
I don't get the feeling Marvelous-First is the sort of dev that would do this because industry trend, though as a counterargument to that I do believe the current builds for Unreal Engine strongly support designing large open world environments so it could be the tool set influencing the direction of the game (that or some ways through development of DxM someone started to think that boxing the mission into a closed space is awfully restricting and that an unbounded game space would just be more fun to traverse in general).

Played the demo for about 4 hours, not done everything but I doubt there's anything really secret or hidden.

Pretty decent game, I like open world games unironically and always wanted an open world mech game, Macross 30 is the only game that scratched the itch.

I do have a problem with the difficulty as the game is quite easy even on the hardest difficulty, the regular enemies die very quickly, the only thing that gave me difficulty was the gunfort, I hope there's more challenge in the full game and there's an interesting end game that actually incentivizes playing with others to take down a big world boss or something.

Will definitely buy it when it drops to at least 60 bucks (not paying for modern game prices).

So, was the demo datamined yet? 40 out of predicted 50GB install just for a few hours of gameplay has me suspicious as to just how much of the playable content is closed behind the demo walls. I'd assume that the whole map is actually already there, fully rendered and what's missing is just campaign stuff, with voice lines, music and maybe some unique assets. The minimap shows enemies outside the playable zone and I'd assume that if you could glitch through the debris blocking the tunnels to the other zones, you'd find finished content, at the very least when it comes to the base gameplay.

You have to be on that keypad for like 20 seconds. There's no way to trade or outlast the acid and it kills you through both horse and car.
Guard shift doesn't stop it from killing you and max corrosion resistance/VP does virtually nothing to slow down the speed with which you die.

Funny thing is, it's behind a breakable wall, which they had in the 1st DxM, but this one is camouflaged pretty well. But it reveals itself in the option map. There is another room across the acid room. But like anon here said>>23464061, it's nearly impossible to stand inside there, even with constant medium and small VP kits, because every tic disrupts the keypad and it's every 5 seconds or less. I've also noticed that the starting mecha is rated the highest rank in energy efficiency, and that special moves spend energy, so there's some evidence that energy will be tighter later, which being light also helps with.

Anonymous No.23464555 >>23464606

Those passive buffs were extremely good. Shit like virtually cutting reload in half and super-maxxing lunge distance/melee damage were near requirements if you wanted to push anywhere near the max. Your outer was completely unusable until they gave you the option to turn into a cybernetic flying freak (the body of which is admittedly pretty nice)

The skyrider or w/e it's called wasn't "good" per se. But you can kill the final boss as an outer "easily" now and it really helped in acid+water dungeon rooms.
That said I do feel the sting of losing the spin shot as a default option. People HATED accidentally spinning. Even to this day it's one of the things people whinge about. But, I used that shit intentionally all the time for the virtual unlimited ammo. The only way you were taking double grim reapers anywhere in post.

However, the new spin IS an improvement (excluding ammo economy). Being useable with all flavors of weapon configurations, giving iframes, having a modular duration, and being slightly easier to control.

Never had a problem using the spin by accident in the original, will surelly miss being able to use it like before, since if felt like an advanced move that most people wouldn´t botter. And yes, the passive buffs were massive, but if you never had then, you don´t really feel it. It´s different if you´re used to then and then stop using it. If you go the whole game without using any of then, you really won´t feel the need. Now though, if you want to do any of the cool moves, you gotta look like a freak

Nah you can just back out and it lets you. Honestly I don't have a problem with such a system but its very shallow in the sense that there's no alternative skills for refusing to mutate. I'd be totally ok with the mutant skills being way better, but I want to have more tools to work with and some actual gameplay/story agency regarding whether or not you become a mutant. As it is, I don't think there's any point to it being set up this way. The demo is already pretty easy too so I'm concerned about how trivial the mutations could make it.

I think its aesthetically and thematically cooler to for a character to reject modifications and still win with better skill. Also it's silly for a game to make a big deal out of how you meed to fuck yourself up for power, but then not actually utilize that in any meaningful way. If you decide to become an ayylium mutant then you should get freaky bioweapon powers but the contrast should be staying human gives you less flashy/high damage skills that let you approach combat differently. No normal human was blinking in any condition. Grief was a super radiated pseudo-chosen one and even he lost that ability when he got reconfigured into the final boss.

This setting also clearly has less ambient femto energy in the air given you're not playing the game in a hyper irradiated hell hole. The only thing that doesn't make sense is the singular one move that was lost by default. The spin.

And as has been mentioned, some of the skills aren't so impressive that you should need monster parts to do it when you already have a powersuit on. At least this time around the mutations affecting arsenal performance makes more sense than it did before.
Hell, they could have at least incorporated part hiding into this as more than a cosmetic choice. Except I wouldn't actually want that because I don't really want to mutate at all, and I'm just rambling at this point.

a) Give you some sort of reason not to do that

>is this even the same universe as the first game or just new story with some repeating elements and reused assets?
Same universe. Everything points towards this being a deep sequel on a distance planet. This could be another planet on the current timeline by I somewhat doubt it given that nobody is talking about a cracked moon and even if it was nearly a millennium has passed.

Femto particles still corrupt life which is why there's monsters in the wild now. Really I wouldn't think much about the first game's story it was rubbish and clearly slap together to make it across the finish line;
>Nobody besides like you and one other person uses the different particle forms.
>Like two people blinked.
>Solomon is presented as some super badass but isn't and just gets handled and that's it.
>Nobody was capable of leaving their mechs besides you
>nobody else could mirage
Most of that could be handwaved by us being a grief clone (big deal) who then augmented themselves.

Anyways given this is a sequel, immortal devouring (actually that DDS reference is pretty apt given that's exactly what we're doing) is probably still part of some master plan to force evolution on humanity.
There's still going to be silly things where "regular" people have superpowers. Then again, the ones ones that did in the first game were clones, just AI, or Grief, so who knows. But what I DO know is that Verve was using limiter release
So he's probably some whacky genetic experiment.

Speaking of whacky, I really REALLY like what they did with chaining two different melee weapons together in regards to critical range. Makes the dagger substantially more useable.

Not in the demo the factors we can get from these low level goombas don't go that high. You can get up to 2 on each color.

Anyways when you kill a thing and go to loot it you can absorb it's factor.
Can't remember the button but there's a button that shows you a list of all possible fusions you could get from a factor when you go to loot it. You can also check the entire list of skills from the terminal you use to fuse.

After that all you do is go to enemies that have the factor's you need, kill them, and absorb the factors. I don't know how mutations work though in regards to transformations. I've taken on skills and passives without transforming and have also had passives transform me with enough of them on me, so there's probably an internal point system based on the type of fusion class and passing the threshold gives you a mutation... Or something. I guess we'll find out when the full game launches and if/when it gets datamined.

you definitely need range mods on that to make it slightly less insufferable. But even then they're pretty hard to use. Most melee weapons are fine at their range band because emergency dodge usually takes you far enough away to be exactly in it.

On the other hand, due to the lower distances things move in general it's not hard to stay in the crit range of any of the other conventional firearms. I still want to rock pistols at some point.

It's not that dissimilar from the dagger. You can land them at crit range and do "okay" damage but they clearly only exist to be used when you're already winning.
And >>23467038 is slightly off. At point blank you can space properly to enter the pistols sweetspot range from an emergency dodge.

The damage under that criteria is extremely good.
The things do nearly 100 damage a shot. A standard silver raider over it's entire mag does like 250 damage and 40 stagger. A faint hope in the same time frame does like 600 damage 60 stagger.
There's other things, the pistol is less impacted by type difference. A silver Raven hitting a hard target does like a third of the damage of a soft target, while a pistol loses like 3 points if it's fired at crit range.

shotgun does less damage under those conditions and sucks on small targets at the range it can get it's criticals. Seriously, like half the shots miss at that range. Like yeah it's hard to use the pistols and the difficulty is why you would just use something else. But my point is that the payoff IS there inside the niche it seems like it's meant to fill.

First game isn't an apocalypse yet either, the damage is contained within an exclusion zone. It threatens to turn into an apocalyptic event, but until the endgame kicks in it's pretty much out of sight out of mind within the Oval Link.

The entirety of the first game is in an isolated quarantine area.
The rest of the world is implied to be going on as normal and using the femto mined by our cast as energy.

This is a universe in which short range instantaneous transportation of matter exists. Anybody that is even remotely grungy probably looks that way by choice.

Well, according to the lore one of the Gardens was used as a weapon of mass destruction and another got somehow colony dropped on not-Earth, both times causing an awful lot of dead people. It's at least a localized apocalypse, if not planetwide.
As for not-Mars not being that much of a shithole in the first game (even though those are the only parts we see), it's because the Dominator was trying to evolve humanity instead of destroying it. It probably slowed down the moon or something so it only nuked part of a continent instead of the entire planet.

I always thought that was stupid feels like the developers want to have this post apocalyptic setting but won't commit to it I know I'm suppose to have disbelief for the setting and just a assume one area of earth looks like this but for me I its hard to buy the rest of the world doesn't look like that.

If they wanted a post apocalypse setting they would've made it one.
They didn't, they wanted the existential threat of an impending apocalypse, it is a very clear distinction.

nta but like half of the world was crashed when the moon fell but femto is literally a miracle material that can be made into literally anything. Endless energy, endless food, whatever you want. While at the same time the AI (before anything AI became an immortal) was super advanced and extremely efficient at building back mankind to a stable state.

It's not really a mad/metal max scenario where resources are low and people fight for what little there is left. Even in the game oval link is established as both ground zero and containment zone.

The AI were pretty advanced before femto was involved, as I recall. At minimum, Asimov levels three laws compliant type intelligent.
Major plot reveal in first game is they didn't become insane Immortals due to the femto so much as the Dominator's presence and potential implications for mankind's survival did exactly what you would expect would happen with three laws compliant automata: they start acting on their do no harm directives in ways that were never intended by their creators, such as trying to hunt down any humans entering the Oval Link on the off chance a single one of them could be the same guy who made first contact with the Dominator way back, but also deliberately suiciding themselves against humanity in the hopes that as salvage they could better prepare humanity for the day they once again breach through and make contact with the weird machine-god existence that descended from the moon.

Have I mentioned that there's an actual plot going on in DxM and it's some weird classic scifi flavored stuff? And that it will never not be funny that Armored Core 6 decided to go for that sort of direction only after Tsukuda did his jank silly version of it first?

Honestly for new players I wouldn't be shocked if they thought "mad max" with power suits you can't blame them since the world's design gives that feeling

Question but whats the point of an heavy arm in flight mode if it just disappears after gauge is out? it functions like a xenoblade mech but with a time limit sounds like a design flaw to me why have an exploration mode if you can't even travel with it?

Looked to be about 40 seconds of flight speed with the default model
It's not replacing resourceless vehicles like the horse, car, or motorcycle.

And it looks to just be the mechs boost mode anyways.
More importantly
>Xenoblade
The closest analogy is XCX and the only suit with a bonified flight mode was added with Hraesvelg.
And I can tell you right now as a person who had one-itis for that skell the fuel costs going from one end of the map to another eat you alive until you upgrade into Lord.
...not to mention the amount of animation cancelling you have to do to make the thing useable because they prioritized aesthetics over actual functionality.
Anonymous No.23471086 >>23472006
And speaking of Xenoblade, X and 3 (the only ones I played, so I won't speak of other entries in the series) at the very least pretended to have a living, breathing world with different ecosystems and the flora and fauna filling them. This game, on the other hand, has a rather sparse, if not just bare bones, version of that. Going by the demo, the attempt was made, but so far it seems token and just kind of there because the world is open now, which as much as I'd like to enjoy, didn't show me anything as much as approaching the sights such as the ones in XCX or 3. I wonder if the finished product will deliver.

Good lord, I hate XBX glazers so much it's unreal.
No, that dogshit game did not pretend to have anything, you have the same exact five or so mook models but with a pallete swap for for each of the five biomes, most of them are completely stationary too, none of them even try to interact with each other either.
It tries even less than this game in fact since at the very least in here you have things like outers running around with cars and shit and more than FIVE (5, cinque, 五) generic band- ehm, GROWTH camps with identical designs, XBX is one of the laziest cases of open world with ridiculously low quality content out there, and the game doesn't even have the decency of giving you your DOLLs before the game is almost over anyway and you already "explored" 80% of what little there is to actually see in that empty, lifeless vivarium.

I've only played the both versions of the game with the cheats on, so I've got my endgame flying dolls right whenever the AM Terminal unlocked. It actually made the game a vastly more enjoyable experience.

oh and I just noticed it's also got the platforming-esque segments. Which will undoubtedly be easier now that you have better rotational camera control. I wonder if joining mid way is possible with these things. Getting bailed out by a person dynamic entrying in would be cool.
But the other side of that is being married to your situation would raise intensity

I can't wait
