It's not just Tomino. Kadokawa also co-owns Gaia Gear. Sunrise/Bandai really have no reason to push something like this where they wouldn't own it completely and would need to share profits with another company.

Note that although Khara worked on Gquuuuuux, they don't actually own any copyright rights over it.

Kadokawa is not a good faith actor. They try to own the anime industry pushing for their Isekai slop every season, on top that their executives are comically corrupt. One president was ousted in the 90's for smuggling cocaine and his brother that succeed him was forced to resign because he was behind a bribing scandal to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic committee.

If Bandai were to come to terms with Kadokawa for an adaptation they'd just make gaia gear alpha a gundam. It is one for all intents and purposes.
It's not called 'gundam' because Tomino wasn't allowed to use that name (among several other copyrighted terms). At the same time Char is obviously referenced, I guess because Tomino owns a partial right to the characters? It's kind of a clusterfuck.

I don't think G-Self is ever called a gundam in the show itself but it didn't prevent bandai from branding it as such.

Tomino thought he could get away with basically making an UC series completely separate from Sunrise as long as he avoided the "Gundam" name. That didn't work in the end, which is why you see a copyright For Tomino/Kadokawa and another for "Gundam/Sunrise" here.

Yes but those don't count as official so they don't matter in context. The difference is filmed works are held as part of "canon" and other media is below them, G-Saviour is a filmed Sunrise work and GG is just a curious tangent on the franchise like Mad Wang.

Eragon is just a collection of stolen plot points from other media written by a 15-year old whose parents owned a publishing company, and given exceedingly good cover art. It's also just Star Wars bu with a LOTR skin and Wheel of Time worldbuilding. No clue how that translates to Gaia Gear though.

I'd assume it means it's a generic mash-up of gundam tropes just like Eragon is a generic mash-up of fantasy tropes.

It's gonna sound like a "my uncle works at nintend" but years ago, like 10+ years ago, someone posted a very rough summary on /m/. I don't know if it was genuine but I distinctly remember it had a bunch of tomino-isms like a jealous, incompetent ally stealing MC's gundam and promptly getting shot down which happened at least 3 times in his gundam shows. And the MC seemed like a normal, generic MC and not very Char-like.
So I fully believe the Eragon connection.

What, you mean like in terms of model numbers? That's hardly a reason, they keep changing it up all the time and the Feds even seem to discontinue the classic "RX" prefix later on.

As long as the Zorin Soul is described as being a machine that was developed a century earlier and the fact that it originally has specs and tech derived from the Penelope/Xi, that's way more definitive than assuming any implications about the model number.

>No shit dumbass. 110 in the model number for a reason
>>23384035
>What, you mean like in terms of model numbers? That's hardly a reason, they keep changing it up all the time
Can you actually follow the conversation? Thanks.

Sentinel's been readable for years, GG is technically all done but so far 4/5 of the gaia gear novels are available to download publicly, the last one will take some time to become public as it's patreon-only for now.

Sentinel and Gaia Gear have nothing to do with each other so you can read whichever one you like first.

If you don't want to be a paypig, start reading Sentinel first. Based off the dates in the link above where Zeonic announces he's started on another part of Gaia Gear and when he puts them up for public download after initially going up on Patreon, it's maybe 3 to 6 month wait per volume of Gaia Gear. Zeonic already announced volume 5 of Gaia Gear was done in March 2025 so it could be another month or two and then Gaia Gear volume 5 will be public.

>He wondered if he'd simply been too tense earlier to notice similar formations on the Danish coast. The South Pacific waters where Affranchi grew up, while polluted, had never presented such a devastating spectacle. He'd seen reports of ocean pollution from the last century creating scenes like this, but it seemed impossible that such conditions could persist for over two hundred years.
Over two hundred years since the last "century".

>"You have no idea how long we've been waiting for you. Two years since we arrived here," one of the crew members remarked, his voice filled with anticipation.
>Another interjected, his tone playful. "Two years? Try a hundred! This operation has been in the works for a century, my friend."
Char's return was in the works for one hundred years.

It's a shame that Gundam transformation isnt as good as Gaia Gear's transformation. Nose of the plane is actually incorporated into the body as oppose to being an external shield is a great design choice.
