Fired this up last night and it seems interesting. I went through the pilots' training course a few times, been a while since I played an FPS but the controls are pretty intuitive. I like the slides and wall running. Hoping to get in a mech fairly soon.

The frontier aspect is interesting, too. Kind of reminds me of Firefly/Serenity.

the first games story was played a lot more seriously, and it was actually a very similar setup to other real robot shows. the IMC is a corpo-nation dictating deep space policy and sometimes abusing workers and the militia oppose them basically through acts of terrorism.

in 2 its much more camp, the IMC is like star wars evil and the militia are the plucky heroes, which is fine for the story they're telling. but the protag / titan buddy duo is the best part, you'll see.

i always liked titan gameplay most. pilot is twitchy fun cuz of the super low TTK but cuz of that the skill floor and the skill ceiling remain much closer.
